I just left B'ham with a load going home and asked Steve about PGT not taking on students any longer. He said that was true but didn't know the reason.

My trainer called me two days after I got my truck to tell me they stopped taking students due to them not making revenue for the truck. He heard that though the grapevine.

And I had the horrible week. A canceled load on Sunday and a P/U number that the shipper couldn't match up that took a day to figure out. Add to that getting lumber loaded wrong on Monday and you have my week.

I just hope this luck ends with the guaranteed 600 bucks after next week.

They hold up that end of the bargain.

I didn't have a full first week due to waiting a couple days to having my truck ready and was only able to get a load dropped and a load on for a Monday drop but was paid the $600 for the week.

For those researching companies and looking at flatbedding, PGT has a new website with all the details...

    *Company Drivers
    http://www.pgtlikefamily.com/codrivers.php

    *IC's
    http://www.pgtlikefamily.com/icdrivers.php

Also, PGT is no longer taking students, but 6 mos. verifiable experience will get you in the door.

Tell'em Dave in #20615 sent you and there's something in it for you. (PM me for details)

Thought I would bump this back up.

Sitting in a TA in Swee****er, TX on my way to Odessa in the morning. This is my first load running for lonestar and if I play my cards right I'll be getting most of the forth off and a three day weekend to boot.

    So wish me luck.

I went the farthest north I've ever been last week. All the way up in Fargo, ND. It was fun running up there, but hauling junked cars back sucked. And that Petro up there has got to be the best location for a TS ever. I was up there for my birthday and was able to eat at a benigans that was right down the road. My gf even called the place and had them give me a bday desert for free. That was pretty cool of her and kinda made my day.

Before that I was in Greensboro, NC and got to see my Dad's best friend that I haven't seen in over four years. You always hear drivers tell stories of meeting up with friends or family while on the road but that was my first time having that opportunity.

You must have gotten the 4th off...that's gotta be the reason i spent the 3rd, 4th, and 5th running between Blytheville AR and Lone Star TX hauling coils.

Worked out good though. got a load out of Lewisville AR Thursday headed for Jax, Fl. for Monday.

I hit the house about 10 this morning...Friday.

Glad it worked out for ya'.
I actually worked the 4th. Got into Lonestar early on the 4th with the idea to get out early, but there were a few complications that held me up for most of the day and I didn't get home until about 9pm.

I had to deliver Thursday morning and then spent the rest of the day trying to find a new place to park the truck.
