Must be a recruiter.

Star transport used to be a good company. I feel sorry for the drivers now that Covenant has bought them. Not that any of them will stick around.

When I called and talked to a recruiter at SRT the first one told me that Covenant had nothing to do with them anymore and the 2nd recruiter said that Covenant owned 48% and that SRT was in the process of taking over Covenant's reefer division. But Covenant has SRT listed on their website as being one of their companies.

Since I personally would not work for Covenant, I can add SRT to the long list of companies that I would not consider.

The pay scale is a big negative. Sliding pay scales are not considered driver friendly.

Then I was told by the recruiter at SRT that Covenant charges their drivers for using trip pak ????

What is the problem with sliding pay scales? Would you rather haul a 100 mile load for the same pay as a 1000 mile load?

I would rather make extra money for those short runs.

Getting charged to use trip pack, transflo etc, especially as a company driver is a load of BS.

In the FMCSA profile it shows that Covenant has 3,256 trucks

3256 X 1.35 per week X 52 = 228,571.00 yearly

Why would a company that is worth working for charge their employees to send in paperwork.

In the case of this company they advertise .47 cpm for top pay with 7 years of experience. trips of 500 miles or less is .47 , 500-900 @.41 and trips over 900 @.37

So iif you figure that you haul 10% of your loads at the highest rate and 40% at the next and 50% at the lowest. You will make .3960 for all loads.

Why do these company's do this, because they can't or are too cheap to compete with the better paying companies. And they know that most drivers will not take the time to figure out what they are making for all miles and compare to what they could make somewhere else.

In reality you are not making anything extra by pulling a small number of loads at a higher rate. With 7 years experience one can do alot better than .3960 for all miles driven.

This is one of the reasons that this company has a very bad reputation.
and throw in charging for trip pak and all of the other things that you hear and you get the picture

You do not need to drive for this outfit to figure out that they are not one of the best companies to work for.
