    Default Roehl - 7 on 7 off

Hey guys. With Roehl's 7 on/7off, I understand that you slip seat with another driver. Here's my question. Does the truck have to be dropped at at a terminal for the other driver to pick up? I'll be living Huntsville, AL and the nearest terminal to me is just outside ATL, Georgia which is 4 hours away. Not quite worth the drive! Thanks.

i work for roehl and it depends on if there is a driver in your area (maybe one or two hours) that drives 7/7 then you can met at a location that is close for the both of you. yes you slip seat with a driver but you clean the truck before you leave it. just give roehl a call and ask if there is a driver in huntsville or within so many mile your willing to travel to get the truck. any more questions just pm

How can a driver make ends meet only working a week, then taking a week off? For me, too much home time and not enough money is a miserable time better spent on the road.

I spend 6 weeks out with a week at home. Bills are paid and a few bucks in the bank keep momma happy and off my tail.

There's just no way that more hometime means more money. Just no way.

He didn't say that more hometime meant more money. In many cases, 6 weeks out would be the end of a marriage, rather than keeping it happy.

I see the 7 on 7 off as more of a retirement thing. You still want to work, but you don't want to do it all the time.

Or perhaps enough money in the bank that say $25,000/year is enough to get by on.

I made over 30k on the 7on/7off when I was running it , not huge money but enough for me at the time . Not to mention I had a social life and could plan out what I wanted to do months in advance .

If I had 14 days off a month, I would spend way more than 30 grand a year.

I'm looking at doing the 7 on 7 off only because I'm looking at running a business on the side plus my wife works and has retirement income from the Air Force.

I think the 7 on 7 off would be pretty decent for a driver as long as they can manage money and don't need a lot of new needless things. One of the things I've gathered from these websites the last few years is a lot of drivers wives don't work or want to. That's not meant to stir up a hornets nest. I know plenty of the wives do work but the drivers that say they don't see how anyone can make it only working half the year are probably too afraid of their wives to have them get a job. I don't drive but if I did I know for a fact my wife would not quit her job to sit at home. She wouldn't want to anyway.

I would never be gone for 4-6 weeks what quality of life is that? What works for one doesn't work for all though.

I made more miles on 7/7 last summer with Roehl than I am currently doing on nationwide 11 out/3days home fleet.

It wouldn't work for a lot of people. Just like staying out 6 weeks and being home 1 doesn't work for a lot of people. Making 30k only working 6 months out of the year isn't too shabby if you ask me, you won't become the next Warren Buffet but if the wife works you can make do AND get to see your kids grow up.

Hoss27 that's what I think as well. If you have a wife willing to work or are single with a decent head on your shoulders it can be done very easily. It's called money management. Unfortunately that's a foreign concept to many people.

I know couples that make 15K to 20K a year combined more than my wife and I. Care to guess who has more left and to show for it. I never have had to keep up with the Joneses. I'd rather be able to do the things I want than be strapped down with huge payments.
