Default I got a new JOB , temporarily

So I enjoy where I'm at with Yellow , however I got laid off and looks like it will be that way until at least May if not later . So I picked up a dedicated run out of Beachwood,OH to Erie,PA with Air Ride Inc. out of Swanton,OH ., one round trip a night , 6 nights a week . Only 195 miles a night , but a 4 hour layover in Erie . Less then 1200 miles a week at around 70cpm . They put me in a 2005 Freightliner with 171k on it , not bad . It's worked out so far this week well and seems like a solid company . We had lunch with the owners Tuesday and talked with our dispatches face to face that day also . I've also never been on hold for more then 10 seconds as they always have someone readily avaliable . If you live in the right area and are looking for a dedicated run , check out this page and pm with any questions , they also have system freight . Anyone else ever drive for them ?

Sorry to hear about the layoff Smooth. I have been going thru the same thing at Roadway, going on about 3 months for me. 9 drivers got called back this week so i'm hoping I should get my call in 2-4 more weeks.

Air Ride seems like a pretty good company to work for. It's too bad that I can't work for them temporarily. I'm waiting for Yellow to do all my backgroud checks, and I'm going to training for three weeks (Road Driver with less than a yr. experience postition). I'll be sure to look them up if & when I need to in the future. BOL!

I started at your barn in April and never got a run. They layed off right after I went on the board. Go figure. Keep your eye on UPS Freight in Richfield. They start at .459 mile and they dont overhire. If you get in you'll work. Plus its nighttime starts and no weekends (unless you want) so you can kinda plan your day and week. No 24/7 on call stuff. I'm at $5800 for this year at the bottom of the board. If we grow like UPS says, nows a good time to get in. Benefits and pension as good as teamster. (Which we may be soon anyway) Just something to think about. Good luck.
