Wil-Trans runs under the Prime's authority, so you will be hauling Prime freight, mostly freight the other Prime drivers refuse. They are set up the same as Prime L/O, but they do have a few company drivers and I stress few. Your lease on their trucks will be more than Primes are. They run Petes from 379 to 387. When I talked to a Prime driver when employed by Wil-Trans, his lease on his Century was around 780.00 a week, while mine on the Pete was a little over a thousand. Basically you run in the north eastern states, from Chicago all the way east. I never got a load going west of Missouri.

Dude, do your homework.... I loved it when i was there... the equipment was good, the pay was up and down. my best week as a solo (after ALL expenses) was 2300$ take home. my worst week was -68$. if you run as a lease operator, it's a chance you take. Before i ran solo, i ran with a guy for a few months... we steadily brought home 1500-2000 a week. but we had a good system going. the only reason i got out of his truck was i couldn't sleep while the truck was turning wheels.

good friend of mine has been there for 3 years now and just switched from lease op to owner op.
if things are so bad there, why would he go out and by his own truck, and least it on with wiltrans? not that xx crap that i'm hearing about.

like any company, it has it's ups and down, good and bad.
and all the bull**** about getting freight that the prime guys dont want? that's a crock... prime's sales team decides who gets what. not the dispatchers. and their job is to get the freight on a truck. they don't care who's tractor is pulling it.

and the dispatch console isn't in the basement. it's up on the third or fourth floor. Not that it matters. and there isn't 50 of em... more like 150.
anyway, you can listen to all the crap on here from people that have never worked there, or you can do your own homework and see what the company has to offer.

oh... why did i get out of the truck? my wife had to have both knees replaced. i had to come home and take care of business. otherwise, i'd damn sure still be there.

good luck man. you can ask about any company in the game on here and get pretty much the same responses that you got about will trans.
bottom line, do your own home work and talk to the drivers that are actually IN the wiltrans trucks. they'll tell you the good and the bad.

Most of the wiltrans drivers I knew drove for small fleet operators that leased on to them. Their pay was set by the owner of the truck and they got maintenance, fuel bonus and profit incentives by those owners. Had nothing to do with Wiltrans or Prime.....they were just hauling Prime Freight and wiltrans maintained organizational control of them. I know nothing of their lease program.
