Is the trucking industry dishonest in general or is it limited to this one particular company? My husband left for training on December 12th. His recruiter promising that because Christmas was on Sunday that there would be a 3 day weekend. After a 9 hour bus ride on Christmas eve, he had to be back at the school Tuesday morning to take his final cdl test. So he was home a total of 19 hours. When he returned to the school, he was then informed that the test was moved till Wednesday. (as the instructors got a big hoot out of ruining everyone's Christmas) This was done to everyone that had a long bus journey. After the completion of the first treck of training it was then told that at the end of the next upgrade, he would then get his time home. Now that his upgrade is finished, he's now being told that if he wants to go home, that he has to provide his own way and his own way back and if he waits on his cad driver assignment, then he must wait one week before he can request time home. Is this the NORM of all driving companies? IT just seems like it's been one lie after another.

Sounds like a normal day at CR England
I HOPE your hubby is going to be a company driver and not a L/O.
Unless you plan on losing everything you own.

Please do a search here on CR England, and read "kick me while I'm down" in new drivers get help here.

Yeah , probably would have been wise to do a little research before commiting to possibly America's worst trucking company . Whatever you do from here , don't make it a full blown mistake and go for the Lease purchase scam .

    Well stated, Glasman2!!

After you read that thread, just do a search on CE England. The ONLY positive things you will here about them come from people who have never driven for them, but are planning to go with them, and are ignoring the counsel of those who advise against it!! I'll bump up some old CRE threads for your benefit.

There is a poster named "Dark Raider" who was going to go with them, but opted at the last minute to go with Swift instead; Thank God at least one person was smart enough to listen!!!

    Gracie;

Up in the "New Drivers Get Help Here" Forum, I've bumped several CR England threads, and there are many others as well.

I'll most likely catch some flack for loading up the forum, but I do want you, and others who are looking at CR England, or any other Fleece Program, to be given fair warning!!

Besides, I hate CR England, and Spencerain acted like a real jerk!! :P

CR England does not have a lease purchase plan. It should be called "lease a truck and then give us the truck back" plan. One does NOT get to keep the truck at end of lease. Read the WHOLE contract.

    I'm still a jerk.
And YOU have never worked for CR England.

Gracie, in all honesty, tell your husband to RUN.....FAST.
I have been with England for 6 weeks solo.
I only get 2200-2600 miles a week as a Fleece Operator.
    Company drivers get even less!!!!!

So .26 cents per mile times say 2000 miles per week is $520.

    Absolutely Correct On Both Counts!!!

I had hopes that you would at least have the decency to thank those who tried to offer you assistance!!! I guess your first comment here sums it up perfectly!!

As far as ME having never worked for CR England, I'm smart enough to realize that when I see a sign that says :

"Electrically Charged Fence: Do Not Touch"

.....it's not a very bright idea to go pi&& on it to see if it really hurts!!!

Thank you all so much! I can't wait to read all this and to pass this along to my husband. He was leaning towards the lease program but I told him that we will wait on that decision until he can get on here and read what i've read. Quite frankly, it scares me to death. What option does a person have now? You don't have enough experience to go somewhere else at this point and where we stand now, we took a huge thump to the pocket book when he decided to do this. So we don't have the cash up front to pay the loan off.

C.R.England has a Lease Plan, NOT A LEASE-PURCHASE. Big Difference.
