I can tell you from everything I know about Melton, from having spoken to a number of their drivers over the years....they are a very good company!! Like Charkar says..... most of the drivers are like CFI drivers, if they ever leave they usually end up right back there That says volumes for a company in itself!
Clint had been gone, but had also returned... see the recent thread entitled "Arrow Trucking."

    Default Melton Truck Lines

I have worked for Melton. Top to bottom best company I have worked for. If i didn't have medical problems when I was there i Would still be running for them. Never once did I not run over 2500 miles in a week. Of course though i am a runner. this would be an excellent choice for a driver.

    Default Flatbed Freight

I guess another thing to look at is the time of year, where people will always be using clothes, food, and the such that is hauled in vans..
Flatbedders haul a lot of construction material, lumber, bricks, shingles, prefab steel, etc.
This time of year, things are going to slow for a flatbedder, it happens, this time of year it always slows, every year I see it happen and every year I expect it to happen.
I figure another few weeks and it will start coming alive again. Back to heavy duty work.
But then, I don't mind, who wants to be tarping in the freezing weather?

Melton is the kind of company that wants "good people", "good drivers", and more than anything.... Drivers who are "Professionals" and who will stay and make it a career.

Frankly, if I had ever been inclined to go Flatbed....I would have gone to work there.
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.
