They are based in Montana. From what I have heard, they run all over the place, and for someone like you being in the panhandle, you may come home once a month. Their trucks run about a whopping 63-65 mph. Ive never heard good,or bad,but from what I heard,is that they run ya all over, and they keep ya out quite a bit.

I have not been able to find alot on this one. I was told home time of every 14 days...Standard answer. Also told that they were big in Texas..again a reference to home time. I know alot of it has to do with where I live. I appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't feel right recommending pulling reefer to anyone until the HOS rules are changed. I was working for Marten Transport when the HOS rules were changed on 10/01/05 to the current HOS rules. The bottom line is that you can not LEGALLY make any real money hauling reefer with the current HOS rules, because you can no longer freeze your 14 hour day by going into the sleeper for a minimum of two hours. Shippers/Consignees and ESPECIALLY lumpers could care less about a drivers time until they have to pay for it! If I were going to pull reefer now, I'd pull for Shaffer. The reason I say this is because they're owned by Crete, so I'm sure they schedule the loads with plenty of time to legally deliver on time. They also pay well and have a longer average length of haul than Marten. That said, I pull for Crete. I just LOVE drop and hook! Good luck.

I looked into them before I left Marten. They pull a lot of meat loads out of Lubbock, but they also do a lot of multi-stop produce stuff out of CA too. They have some super nice lease/purchase trucks. Totally loaded O/O speced Petes and Volvos with APUs, fridges and microwaves. However, you pay dearly for them and they didn't really seem to care how you made the payments. Meaning you run hard and do what you have to log wise. I said thanks, but no thanks.
