    Wow. I never knew that.

Oh wait. Yes I already did, as did everyone else who posted in this thread.
Wow, what a nice person you are! Now If I was to massacre your name and tell you thats how I pronounce it, you'll be fine with that right? Pronunciation is 'changed' only when the poor guy gives up on trying to teach people how to pronounce it or when noone knows how to pronounce it in the first place- Usually second gen. immigrants

The fact is that there is one way to pronounce this word and its not COOK or COTCH or Coke :x

When it comes to someone coming into a thread and trying to pass off EXACTLY what everyone has already discussed ad nauseum as an original idea, yes - i'm an a%%hole about it.

Considering it happens quite often, not only with the pronounciation, but also the spelling, yes. I'm used to it.

    I disagree.

Rev, you know it is not uncommon for the pronunciation of names to be changed between the country of origin and the country where that family immigrated to.

(I know it was cheap, but it made me laugh. Must be the friggin heat.)

I'm part German and it looks like it's pronounced "c o c k", you know like a rooster.

For what it's worth, around my parts it's either pronounced Kotch (very small trucking company here in PA) or Kuck (big Turkey farm around here).
Food has replaced sex in my life. Now I can't even get in my own pants....
