    Default Knight Trans.

Has anyone worked for Knight out of Kansas City Kansas? I hear
they have a program that if you run 12k a month, they will put you
    into a new Volvo.

Shouldn't you have posted the above in the What about this trucking company? forum? Or better yet, just do a search for "Knight Transportation."

I work out of Tulare Ca. If you work hard and no service failures they will put you in a new Volvo or Peterbilt within 6 months. I have been there since April and got my new Truck 2 weeks ago. My first Truck was an 05 Volvo and I never had any problems with it.

If you are good at finding easter eggs you will do fine at Knight. Why? Because you will always be searching for an empty trailer.

The joys of working for a company that does a lot of drop and hooks.

Spend a few hours hunting an empty trailer or spend a few hours waiting for some forklift jockey to run 4 pallets off your trailer because he has to get his 2 coffee breaks and a lunch break in first.

Personally though I still can not see what someone wants with a brand new truck. I have had the misfortune of driving 2 and had more problems with them than with the ones with 500,000 miles on the odometer.

Give me a truck with 100-200,000 miles on it any day.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

That was the main reason I went to Knight, because they boasted about 75% drop and hook. That is supposed to be a good thing, but when you spend half a day looking for a trailer after dropping one it kinda defeats the purpose. I then hoped for live unloads....But then I realized that was the reason I left me previous company and went with Knight. I am now back with my previous employer making more $$$ than I could at Knight.

Knight seems to be having some account problems. I run out of the Katy terminal and for the last 3 weeks or so loads are far and few in between. I am going to ride it out to see if it all clears up, I just don't know how long my pocket book can hold out.
