I recommend Google Maps for quick and dirty routing done by you.
That is the way he was routed! He was not sure at first because of the over the limit permit but because of the size of the flatbed he can legally run it without a permit.

He does have his laptop! He has the navigator system. He needs another speaker because if the truck is idling it is difficult to hear.

I think once he gets it all hooked up and going it will be a very helpful tool. This is the reason why we got the computer in the first place.

I hope no one gets in the place my husband is at. It could easily happen though!

    For today's update:

I took my husband down to Sage this morning after dropping the kids off at school. This was around 8:30. I received a call from my husband about an hour and half later he was still at Sage.

Even though he did not set his trailer brakes, Will told him they will sometimes set themselves if they sit long enough! Yep! That is what happened alright and his trailer brakes froze

So I asked him if I could bring something to help, he said some flares! He thought he had some flares in the truck but there were none in the truck.

He had been pounding the drums with a hammer attempting to get them unlocked but it did not work. He got back under the truck with the flare after I arrived and that still did not work.

Finally Will (the director of the school) came out and got the wheels moving and they began to rock so he got it out. Yep! Will to the rescue once again.

Anyway my husband did not leave until about noon and had to be there before 2:00 p.m. to get loaded. He did not make it in time to get loaded so he is spending the night at the shipper and will be the first one loaded in the morning at 6:00 a.m.

My husband has a flat top Kennworth. He said he really likes the way the Kennworth shifts compared to the Peterbilt. The bed is a little bigger and he likes the way the compartments are set up better!

I did not get a chance to call the attorney today to find out if we need to be there on January 8, 2006 or if he is going to get that date pushed back.

The other attorney sent a refund of $3,200.00 so he kept $300.00. Still is less than half of the price if I kept Roadlaw on as his attorney.

Be nice, it's not his or her fault your package is late or damaged, we do the best we can at this time of year. To all, take care and have a great holiday season !
I forgot to address this part of your post the other day. No men/women in the UPS will deliver to our door. They cannot get up our hill  They do not have four-wheel drives. If we get any UPS packages I have to go to the office to pick them up.

Yesterday my husband only went to Missoula Montana. He said the pass was very slow! When he picked up the load he had it scaled out.

Today he decided to check the load on the scales in Missoula before he left and the load was heavy over one of the axles so he had to readjust it. He drove to Miles Montana today approximately 500 miles. He still has approximately 820 miles to go to deliver his load. His load is due Friday.

We are hoping that he will get another load before the weekend and that he is not stuck sitting in Wisconsin over the weekend. I know he is a day behind what he wanted to be because of the frozen brakes on his trailer on Monday.

I am one sore puppy! I dug up the dirt the yesterday, exposed the broken pipe and there was a cut out for the plumbing. The goof-ball layed the foundation on about a inch and a half of the pipe when he cracked it.
Anyhow my step-dad came over yesterday and was back today. He thinks he has it fixed so no $1,860 for the plumber

See things are looking up! :P

Wife, you two have been through the ringer this year for sure. It sounds to me like you and the family need a couple of weeks vacation.
I realize since hubby just started his new job, that's not going to happen.
I really hope that someday soon, you and your family get that vacation.
    Keep smiling.

No, those package cars don't have 4WD, although you would think Brown would spring for it in rural areas. I'm sorry about the poor service. Now if I was still in package cars, I'd just RACE up that snowy driveway on foot. No A/C either, and with a clear plastic ceiling in the back it can get mighty toasty in the summer, especially since I had a route in the Mojave Desert. It's good you got out of the large plumbing bill. See ? your lucks going to change for the better..

My husband made his drop yesterday morning in Independence, Wisconsin. He drove more than 650 miles on Thursday so yesterday he had to drive only a few hours to get to the shipper.

He did get another load yesterday in Minnesota. This load is a load of twine. He said it was pain to tarp because it was not all even. He will have one drop in South Dakota and we do not know if the receiver is open today or not. He was going to call and find out. Then he has two other drops in Wyoming.

He is not sure what the total miles on this trip are yet.
If the receiver is open today in South Dakota he will deliver there today and then in Wyoming on Monday. If the shipper is closed today he will get there and delivery Monday morning. And then make the two drops in Wyoming Tuesday morning.

What a nice thought! Maybe somewhere down the road this will happen. I doubt it will be anytime soon though.

Thank you for something to dream about though!

That is so kind and shows your dedication to your work. Our driveway is not one that we would even want you to race up. When there is ice on it, it can be very dangerous and it is a long private shared driveway between two homes. Heck even in the summer it is exercise to walk up and down it.

I do not know why UPS does not spring for a few 4-wheel drives. I think that the employees feel the same way. I heard they have one up in Alaska and that is it.

    Take Care,

Glad to see your world is looking up, even at least a little bit! Keep the postive upbeat attitude (sometimes easier said than done I know) and it will all work out for the best.

Thank you! Hopefully yours will be looking up soon also! How much more time does your husband have with his trainer? Guy sounds like a real dweeb-it!

I am now thinking about fighting city hall so to speak! They have a planned development going in (they only have preliminary approval) it is 40-41 houses on about 55 acres! Everyone else up here has to have 5 acres per one house :x . The place were they are planning this is before the freeway so all traffic has to go by there, and now they are talking about one big well for all those houses which would really drain everyone out here.

So much corruption and garbage going on in the world. I have to attempt to get the neighbors and people united against this.

He's got until Wednesday to be done with training as far as we know at this point. And yah, guy could definitely use some bat upside the head therapy or something. Hopefully we will be rid of him soon.

It's almost end of the year and I know how glad you are of that! There is a book titled "Ask and It Is Given". It is very, very good. No one deserves a better new year than you. All of my best to you and your family. You have made progress, overcome hurdles and endeared yourself to those who read your posts. Keep it up!

Oh Yeah that way I can have a big target to slide into when I go around there on the black ice! I almost slid off there this morning  but I got it under control And I am more use to winter driving than most up here.

Thank you so much for the very kind words and the good thoughts! After the holidays and a few good checks I will look for the book.
