At TMC, I just had to lumber tarp on my shoulder and carry it up a ladder to the top of an 8' load. Not that big of a deal, and I ain't no big dude either. You'll do fine! 8)

Big Dave:
Don't give up your local job! You will regret it. :x
But if you still want to try it TMC and Maverick are pretty much the same. I worked for TMC so I can talk for them. Either way, they are both good choices. Just remember...chrome doesn't put more $$$$ in your bank account.
Steve, keep us posted on how it went on the fitness test you take next week, or send me a PM. If you remember my post, I'm the one with the bad arm. That somewhat has me concerned. I'm probably worrying over nothing. Anyway, I plan on applying with Maverick next spring. We get a killer Christmas bonus at where I work and it's too close to give that up. And I have some personal matters to take care of so it will be spring time before I'm ready. BOL!Originally Posted by stevedb28

dont forget that at TMC you will spend some time in the truck wash each week and when you come to des moines they will probably find someway to take points away.![]()
What do you mean by taking points away?
Keep'em between the lines.
If your truck isn't immaculate inside and out. If your tarps aren't stowed away in the sideboxes. If your bundles of bungees are visible. If your load isn't secured properly or the tarp job has a wrinkle in it. If you're missing a lug nut cover. They'll find a reason to take away a certification point or two.![]()
