Default Intellectual road warrior seeks team oriented travel agent

I'm an intelligent, 39 year old, Product Transportation Specialist (Yeah, I made that one up), who graduated high school at 16, owned a successful computer repair business in Hawaii, have tested multiple times on I.Q. tests over 160, and decided a couple years ago to follow a passion for travel. (I might have gotten a pilot's license, since I have flown a plane, but how much of the country do you really see at 33,000 ft?)

I obtained my CDL in Oct 2006, and drove for Central Refrigerated for 2 years. Within 3 months with Central I was on their Dole Dedicated account (6 month requirement to drive on that account was waived for me). A few months later, they lost the bid for solo runs with Dole, and I drove 48 states.

I prefer to drive hard, then enjoy a 34 hour restart. If it can be logged legally, I can drive it. Not once in 2 years was I denied an on time bonus. During my 2 years with Central, I only took home time 4 times. During the first winter with Central, they sent weekly weather warnings. From October to March, I was in all but two of the storms they warned about.

I decided that due to numerous policy changes with Central in late 2008, and with the terminal illness of my girlfriend's mother, I would leave Central (giving 1 months notice of course), and go back on the road with Central, or another company after the funeral and mourning. She stayed with us through the winter and into spring, far longer than expected. I'm currently driving for Schneider, but with my experience, dedication, intelligence, and passion for driving, I can do better. I wish to find a company, like Central before their changes, that I want to drive for for many years.

I love the road, and when it's comfortable, I love living on the road. To be comfortable, (based on what I've experienced) I would prefer a Volvo VN780, 8 speed or automatic with an APU. I have a power inverter, which I would like installed along with a refrigerator that I will gladly buy.
I don't mind driving a governed truck, that's all I've driven so far, but this could impede my ability to make up lost time in heavy traffic, and bad weather.

I have a spotless MVR, no criminal history, don't drink, and will pee in a cup every week if so desired. The only mistake that I've made is clipping the bumper of a parked truck while trying to avoid a yard jockey. This happened after 9 hours of driving, a 10 hour break spent moving my truck many times at a shipper with inadequate parking who finally unloaded my trailer 8 hours after my appointment time, and a previous 11 hours of driving. So essentially 28 hours without sleep, but I did make all my loads on time!

I'm an excellent communicator who always makes my dispatcher aware of problems as soon as they arise. I'm perfectly honest, and expect the same from my team. I don't make promises I can't keep, and also expect the same in return. If I don't have an answer to a question, I say so, and do my best to find it.

If you're looking for an excellent driver who doesn't need to be babysat and will make your truck make money without a lot of hassle...
