I can't say that 127 wouldn't have changed my mood.
Although, I have to admit, I let a 4 wheeler at 106 go one night without writing, back in my early days. I doubt I'd do it again, although with the same circumstances I might - I woke his wife up and showed her the radar (which I used at the time) and told her I thought it was best she drove. Somehow I don't think that anything I could have done would have been much worse.
Sometimes creativity can get the point across just as well, or better, than putting pen to paper! I am a big believer of that.

Are you really buying all the fantasy stories? No truck tire in the world is designed to handle speeds over 100MPH, any manufacturer will tell you the belts would separate in no time from the flexing and heat build up,,,jeeeez

Sorry weather is not the issue,,,the heat builds up inside the tires, the belts and sidewalls from all the tire deflection at those speeds,

No air, they were special tires that can't get flat like on fire trucks.
My god the BS is getting deep. Might just have to pull out the hip waders soon.
the tires must have been filled with bs and it spilled out here on the posts.
You don't have to like it you just have to do it!

Oh come on, the tires were filled with laughing gas.
Back in the old days, a lot less traffic, leave Weatherford Petro and go non stop to El Paso Petro, only 2 in those days, point ex hood and west bound attitude, at least 100+. After I bought my first truck and I had to buy tires and fuel and everything else, slowed my butt waaaaaay down.
I love my truck

Back in the "Day" when things were a lot more Relaxed on the Road and Police were pretty much your buddies I used to put my Foot in it.
In the 80's during the Fuel Crunch Montana didn't HAVE a speed Limit. Drivers carried a wad of $5 bills because unless you were TOTALLY out of Control you Didn't get a Speeding ticket-You got a $5 Fuel Conservation Ticket.
Okay. I had a 2000, Freightliner Classic XL with a 500 Cat, and 342 rears. Top speed was supposed to be just over 100. I did have it up to about 97 once. I know that's how fast it was because while the speedo only went to 85, the GPS was more accurate. One time, and one time only. And the four-wheeler quit playing games with me.
Otherwise, my cruise control works fine.
Current truck is a 200 Classic XL, 342 rears, and a 500 Cummins. Cruise also works on this one. Should have the same top end, but I've never tried it.
