Big Cabin on us 69 and exit 263 on I~44 in NW Oklahoma has a good rest shuttle and showers hope its still open used to love stopping there. The Giant is also great in nm. The stage coach is supper but pricey on the meals but for a nice stop ill pay the extra. You gotta love this board it's the bomb just totally rules.

    Default truck stop

Petro on I-75 in Ocala, FL. Great store and a lot of diagonal parking.

the petro on 75 in ocala is all right if you turn off you cb with all the advertisment going on you cant talk for a ten miles radius. but my all time favorite truck stop is i 70 colby ks they have recliners in front of a big screen a graet place to relax, its not never over crowded, and very clean. For all of us younger guys who enjoy nice scenery its a pretty popular stop for the college girls just down the road. (not that I look)
If life is what you make why the hell do I drive a truck

By far i think Petro has the cleanest showers. Although those TS's up off I-80 in Nebraska are pretty nice.
Get out of the Resturaunt and move your truck out of the Fuel lanes!

Bosselmans in Grand Island. Two movie theatres, big screen tv's with couches. CB store, haircutting place (I think), arcade, restaurant, some taco place, subway, and a nice sized store. Also very clean.. and they play tropical sounds in the bathroom... WOOHOO!

I can't quite remember what the name of the place was, but it was one of those typical Canadian "highway stops" that catered to all travellers, trucks included. The place included a restaurant, motel, even a bar. Back then it was an Esso stop-who knows what it is now, though?

The place is located in Louiseville, PQ, at exit 174 on Autoroute 40 (also known as the "Autoroute Rive Nord"). From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the restaurant was incredible!! How many truckstops do you know that serve lobster bisque, steak tournados, rainbow trout, and black forest cake? Even the plain old "bifteque aves sauce bruin" was delicious. I gained 40 lbs during the year I drove Quebec, and this place is more responsible for that than anyplace else.

For those of you who find yourself on the road between Montreal and Quebec City (just a few clicks before Trois Rivieres), stop there and try the food. They have English menus for those who ask.

I don't care about the bells and whistles at a truck stop, unless I'm doing a 34-hour restart.

All I care about is easy parking. When I get to a truck stop, I'm tired, I generally have to pee, and all I want is a ncie empty lot with pull-thru spaces so I can just *stop*.

Later, I'll notice if they have a nice store, good food, or whatever. But all I *really* want is easy parking.

As a truck stop chain, I'll pick either petro or flying J. Pilot says SCREW the driver ( no parking, no restaurant, showers that may or may not have hot water) Flying J seems to have the best maintained lots, with Petro coming in second. There are a lot of T/As that have holes in their lots that are big enough to lose an eighteen-wheeler in them. But Pilot is on the bottom of the list with Love's racing for a tie for last place. I REFUSE to fuel my truck at a PILOT or LOVE'S. That is, until they put in parking, restaurants (real ones), and TURN THE DAMNED AIR-CONDITIONING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF WINTER!!!!

I was south of Dallas heading towards Laredo on 9/12 and Loves jacked their fuel prices to around $5 a gallon-Drivers were about ready to hang them for that.

Been there twice..... The first time, and THE LAST TIME.

Worst thing that ever happened to Bosselman's was going to bed with Pilot. I'm going to a different company right after the first of the year. I've made up my mind that I will not work for a company that used Pilot for fuel, and I've recently found out that COMDATA is right in there with them. Romance the companies and screw the driver. If Pilot and COMDATA become LIABILITIES for companies to hire drivers, things will change.

Ten years ago, many companies were running COE for fleet trucks. They went away from that because it was a liability in hiring drivers. Do the same with Pilot and COMDATA. Today, EVERYBODY has conventionals. In ten years, Pilot will have parking and restaurants too.

I got 2. JoJo's truck plaza on I-80 at exit 45 in Emlenton, Pa, and the Yum Yum on I-71 Exit 62 in Glenco (sp?) Kentucky. The Yum Yum has good food at a good price and JoJo's makes a mean Dagwood sandwich.

Oh, and windwalker, I agree with you. I hate Pilots. No real food and their parking sucks. Petro and the Flying Crook are my favs. I like TA's, but you need to learn who has the good showers and the crappy ones. I'll shower at Florence, Kentucky, but I won't touch the one in Walton, Kentucky with a 10 foot pole. We got a truckstop guide book and I made notes in it on showers and such. And some of those holes in the TA lot, they are so big I'm suprised the entire TA doesn't get swallowed up in them!!!

By the way. I HAVE changed companies because I will not fuel my truck at a Pilot. Now, I'm back to fueling at J and Petro. Just in case you're all wondering if I practice what I preach. And Pilot and COMDATA can both kiss my...... Well, okay... They can both suck eggs.

Why thank you Windwalker. My old man drove for them for 3 months. I think he actually ended up owing them money.

There's an excellent place to eat in Wyoming at the I80 and exit 61.

Without a doubt some of the best food on the road at a way descent price.

I'd have to say I really like Jubitz in Portland. The restraunt there is top notch, not a normal iron skillet joint. I also really like the Loves in Roseburg, OR... Lots of bike riding around the country roads around there... Always clean and we fuel there too... How about Rolling Hill's casino in Corning,CA? While maybe it's not a truckstop but they have BIG spots and lots of room... And spots up front for the lazy ones...
