I find something that I like about every state. There are some that I don't care as much as others, mostly areas such as Massachusetts and New York. Still, upstate New York is beautiful as is part of Massachusetts.
I never got tired of going to places like NM, AZ, UT, CO, ND, ID, OR, or WA. Canada also has places I enjoyed in ON and AB. Wish I could have run there much more often. And, if you want to really see something impressive, try the "AVENUE OF THE GIANTS" in northern CA. Got to go through there once because the hiway was closed and we were detoured. But, you'd better be very careful there. You can bend your trailer in half going around those trees. That road was NOT made with 53' trailers in mind.

Much of the west is beautiful. I have always enjoyed the driver from Reno up through Susan, CA. When you get up on top of those mountains heading toward Oregon, it is very scenic. It can be a little harry if you have a heavy load in a couple of places. I remember going over the mountains and there is one area where it is very steep. I recall going over once and although the temperature was very moderate, there was still alot of snow going down the mountain. The foliage is very thick and the sun could not get through to melt it as it could in the open areas.
That trip we made through the "AVENUE OF GIANTS" was about noon, in the middle of July, and the light that filtered down through those trees made it look like twilight. But, you could stand a semi trailer on end, and fit it inside one of those tree trunks. Not much light gets to the bottom there anytime.

I like the south/southeast, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, The Carolina's, Florida... I have never been more than an hour or two west of the Mississippi river... I've always been an east coast/ mid west driver.

In my limited range, I still like the southern end of West Virginia (the area around War and Welch) and the I-81 corridor in Virginia. There's no place like home.
