All but the Alamo...and they trashed IT, too!

HaHa.... and they thought "Earthgirls were easy!"

I don't even want to SUGGEST that the only "foundations" in Texas are RELIGIOUS ones!

Or that the only WOOD in Texas is.... "where WOOD that be?"

HaHa.... I KID Texans.....cuz it's so easy! But, I love 'em!

I have a niece who was born there. She lives there now, again. She just recently had a baby...whom she named HARPER for some reason... and I love them both.

I spent 4 or 5 of my most "formative" years there.... near the Red River. I discovered "wimmin" there!

Texans are ALL RIGHT by me! (Heck, they're ALL "right" anyways!)

Hell, if it weren't for Texans, we'd have to make fun of.... um.... ALASKANS!

Sarah Palin said: "I can see Russia from my HOUSE!"

Heck, MOST Texans can see MEXICO from their house!

Does anybody know why Texas IS the "Lone Star State?"

    I bet GMAN does!

Make no mistake, folks. I KID Texans cuz I CAN! But, there is NO OTHER American that I would want to "have my back" than a TEXAN! It IS a special state. They ARE special people. PATRIOTS.... every ONE of them!

Dang, Hobo...I was going to say..."You know I would have given you a ride" but I figured I'd get all kinds of obscene comments. I was at the Flying J at Lubbock a bunch of times over the last few weeks.

I saw the same dude on the same corner panhandling everyday. I was drilling out by the Police Impound yard and there are some abandoned building where homeless people crash. I would see him every morning as I was driving up...I'm sure the drillers woke him up. I saw someone give him some money one day when they were stopped at the light, then I saw him again as I was getting field supplies...he was walking to the flashy new Overton Wal-Mart. Maybe they just want to eat what they like. He wasn't buying a brush/comb or clothes. At least he was buying food at Wal-Mart and not at the Flying J.

Yes. Our office is a double wide. It's not what you think though. It's just open inside. No walls, except for the restroom. On one end, is where the drivers have their desks, etc, and the other end is where the sales people are.

Our warehouse is right behing the flyin hook. Are you talking about that guy that always wears a pair of coveralls? No matter what the weather is, he's wearing his coveralls. He stands at the intersection of I-27/HWY 82. He's usually somewhere under the overpass right there.

That's him. Poor guy. But he's scary looking! I hate to drive by and do nothing but I figured he wouldn't want my Weight Watchers lunch or Powerade Zero...and I never carry cash.

Yeah, it's weird how he just hangs out right there. I don't think I've seen him at the truck stop.

Hey listen man, I got my family on the car, I just ran out of fuel and I am just trying to get home a few hours away, I lost my job and I am just trying to get to my new house so I can start working at this new job I just landed! Plus my kids haven't eaten all day, they are starving, I don't know what to do, think you could spare a few bucks?

As I sit looking all around,
Confusion and uncertainty is all I found.
    The answers are there,
But I do not know where.
    Optimistic and hopeful dreams,
Are all I have so it seems.
The future I do not know,
So all I can do is take it slow.
But I do know it will work out,
So I wait and watch without a doubt

Just gave a guy 2 bags of corn flakes. Of course, I found them behind my trailer when I parked here. The cardboard boxes got rained on, but the plastic bags inside were still in one piece with no holes. (Neighbor's dog goes nuts over corn flakes, so I thought it might enjoy these too.) There were 6 of them, and a couple of "Honey Bunches of Oats".

"What am I going to do with these?"

I put salt on them and use them for Doritos Chips with beer.

He handed them back and shook his head.

It dawned on me one day that...these are the same people that pound on your truck

at 3:00 am and wake you up begging or telling a sad story.

Giving them money or goods only encourages them to wake you up in the middle of the night.

Hard luck story #1- The usual I ran out of gas and can you spare any change.

Hard luck story #2- This was a new one. I'm sitting in the back row. This guy sees me on the computer and walks straight to me. He doesn't ask for money but asks if I had any spare food because he's broke and has not eaten for 2 days. I still told him to get lost but jeez.
Last Sunday morning I was at the Pilot in Jackson, MS and this guy comes up to me as I'm about to leave with his hard luck story. I give him a dollar just so he'll leave me alone. I called inside and reported him, but the security guard couldn't find him. A few minutes later, I watched him get in his brand new Honda Accord and drive to the Petro across the freeway.

Speaking of that Pilot, everytime I go in there, the McDonalds is always filthy. The floors and tables look like they haven't been cleaned in over a week! The employees are always shirkin' instead or workin' and talking nasty to each other.

Matthew 25:35 For when I was hungry, you gave me food; when

What I don't understand is why the verse talks about those on his RIGHT being the "righteous," and those on the LEFT being the wicked. I would have to say that, based on American politics today, those "labels" could certainly be reversed.

I have been "bitten" many times over by the panhandler and the "needy" alike. I don't profess to always KNOW the difference. I really don't CARE. And I don't act out of some FEAR of reprisal from what SOME call "God." I act out of compassion for my fellow man according to my abundance at the time. I don't always GIVE them what they want. But, I try to GIVE me what "I" need. If I had extra food (and that is what they asked for,) I might give it. If 5 bucks for gas will not ruin me, I let THEM be responsible for how they spend it... OR I put it in their tank. I have gone SO much further than this in certain circumstances that I dare not even relate it to you all.

What I KNOW is that I am not "fooled" all that often, nor am I overly burdened by my responses. I do what I do, and I don't complain about it. I don't JUDGE the panhandler, and I feel I would not be "judged" for my responses.

But, for the record, NO.... I have not noticed so much of an increase in requests at truckstops or street corners. Economic disparity is a fact of life. I count my "blessings" that I have never been on the other end to the point that I had to beg for what I needed.

Gee, "wicked panhandlers" in a truck stop. You know, I never thought of that until you brought it up, Hobo. Every one I met in any truck stop, or in any other situation, for that matter, was on my left side. Did that make them "wicked"?

I don't know, Windy. I didn't write the Book of Matthew. WHY WERE the "wicked" ones considered being on the LEFT of Jesus? He didn't actually SAY that the "righteous" ones were on "the right." But, that is the way the scripture plays it out. I didn't write it.... I just observe and report. YOU decide.
