    Default Candy ....What's your pleasure?????

Hi my name is Trukrswyfe and I'm a candyholic. Though I am currently sober and have plans to remain so I cant live with out my candy.

It has been 6 hours since my last piece and I am sending my son to the store for more. Ok so I wish I was kidding here but Im not. No need to alarm anyone I still take good care of myself and my teeth I however am hopelessly addicted to candy. I am not too picky in my choice I enjoy all types.

So What's your Pleasure .....of Candy people (keep it clean) :

I like most candy. But now that I'm older, I don't crave it as much. I noticed quite a few dietary changes. One is I also became more lactose intolerant, which meant ice cream was out. I could eat it, but then felt sick later.

Ended up having to have my gall bladder removed...so that answers some dietary changes. I also need to be careful with my weight now. I never use to ever have any weight gain. After I retired from Construction, I adopted a less physical daily routine. Now I refuse candy, just because of the calories.

Another change is, numerous dental crowns. I can no longer eat caramels, taffy, gum drops, or any chewy stuff. I've pulled crowns off doing that.

I still enjoy hard candy...and I keep peppermints in my truck, because when ever I get drowsy...something about peppermint in particular perks me right up...at least for a while. I don't mean a sugar buzz... the mint seems to do it.
Because I can eat other sugary candy and it doesn't do the same for me.

I love chocolate with caramel and nuts, mostly almonds. But, when I have a chocolate craving I like it rich. No Hershey for me, make it a Godiva-strawberry cheesecake or truffles.

My favorite is Hershey's Kisses and bars..and Chacolat chip cookies..

I like many a candy, but cant eat very much of it..I ate so much when I was a kid, Now I just rather have real food. but I do get the craving for the Hersheys and cookies, and can eat at least, 6 kisses, 4 cookie, or 1 bar. but that is my limite.

Pies--Blueberry, blackberry, peach, apple and cobblers oh and lemon. Rubarb if it has alot of sugar.

SMARTIES!!!!! ( they're from Canada). Soooooo good. Sorry For4Roses, just my preference. I don't care for M&M's. I think the candy coating on the outside and the milk chocolate inside the Smarties taste way better. I also love cotton candy and chocolate covered cherries. I love these things but I can't eat but a tiny bit, if any, cause I'm diabetic. But I can still dream about them. LOL.

A sad story for those of us who remember
growing up with Hershey bars, and just as sad
for the generations of today. What will be
    outsourced next?

Pennsylvania is a big state, but it amazes me in
this day, how some news doesn't make it over the
mountain to the front page of our papers or the top
Of our news hours in Western Pennsylvania.

Milton Hershey, this year, will be joining H. J Heinz
in rolling over in his grave. Hershey Chocolate is
moving to MEXICO...whoopee! They're even closing
down Hershey Canada. Don't buy any more Hershey
Bars. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are my favorite and
they are made by Hershey. But, I will not purchase
    Another one!

M.S. Hershey had a dream... I will buy my OWN Sugar,
Milk, Cocoa beans, (all natural mind you!) and make candy...
(no tariffs etc..) EVEN during the depressio n...HE and the
Company made money...NOW some Corporate big wigs are
ruining the name... AND the product M.S. created... Please
pass it on...What a bunch of college educated "idiots".

Thank you M.S. Hershey for all the things I have and all you have
done for me and my family..."I" do appreciate it... as for
"Dick" Lenny and Company...good luck you greedy, money
loving BASTARDS...you are ruining the name, the company,
and MANY lives in central Pennsylvania.... read on...
    Enough is Enough!

So Hershey executives are closing plants in the US ,
laying off over a thousand people, and destroying
Mr. Hershey's dream, all to cut labor, material costs
and AVOID PAYING ANY US TAXES!
The company will save about $170 million a year,
all on the backs of the American people. The top
executives will still make their mega bucks and the
laid off workers will have to find other jobs, some
prob ably at minimum wage due to their age. All this
to take their jobs to India, China and Mexico, So
WHAT part of the "GREAT" American Chocolate
Bar is left?...NOTHING! These countries are no
doubt laughing at the Americans, who they don't
like anyway. How long are the American people
going to sit around and let big corporations do this
to us? We must all band together and let our Politicians
in Washington know we have had it with NAFTA, CAFTA
and "SHAFTA" and we won't take it any longer!

Please, do not buy any Hershey product! If the company wants to take
the work to these countries, then let those countries buy the
    product. We don't need it!

    BOYCOTT HERSHEY!!
Please pass this to everyone on your email list so it gets all across the United States.

When I was younger, I couldn't get enough chocolate into my system. Well, I think that's built up now. For some reason, I can only handle one or 2 small pieces of chocolate a week now, if that much. It just doesn't taste good anymore.

I usually just have chips or donuts to snack on when I'm driving now.

I really only eat chocolate once a month. Other wise it is the rest. Diabets does run in my family but I die a broken heart if this happens.

Gordo, I TOTALLY agree with you. When I was in my late teens the price of sugar went up dramatically. Remember when restaurants stopped having sugar containers on tables? Then all the candy companies upped the prices of their 10 cent candy bars and eliminated the 5 cent bars altogether. That was a sad time for all us kids. Your allowances just didn't get you what you wanted anymore. Even after the price of sugar fell considerably the candy makers didn't lower the prices.
I love Hershey kisses and so does my husband. He also likes the peanut butter cups. We decided not to buy any more Hershey products either. There are many families in and around Smith Falls, Ontario who are now out of jobs. I mean, not just one person in a family, but in many cases several members who all worked at the plant. Generations. I wonder if they'll end up regretting their decision. Be interesting to see what happens.
    Drive safe everyone.

    Mapleleaf_1:

Yes, I remember that too, no sugar on the table, and no candy either, what a trying time! LOL.
I have always loved Hersheys, sad to see them go the way of so many once American institutions, all for the sake of a few more dollars, mostly for people who already have so much, they can't possible spend it all. But that is why they are rich and I'm not. They have a insatible greed, hoard everything, and could care less about fellow Americans or their families. But will be the first to demand those same families sacrifice their sons or daughters go fight a war to protect their investments. Sad times we live in.
Now have to find a new candy to enjoy. Heck, maybe I'll go on a diet! LOL>
