I guarantee you that the US is talking to Israel Constantly about this right now and asking the Israelis to slow down a bit and not Hit the bastard where he lives BUT the US will be first ones there if his Idle threats become Military threats.
Understanding the situation in the Middle East Israel can't be the Ones to hit them unless it depends on the Survival of Israel.

Another way to Look at it, if you followed Desert Storm and Iraq was Lobbing their Scud Missles into Israel, was that Israel Didn't respond to it(That had to be TOUGH) because it would have made an Explosive situation(Literally) into Armeggedon(sp) and I feel that Israel and the World knows this. Israel's Patience with this kind of stuff amazes me.

Its unlikely Israel will launch a pre-emptive strike this time around. Iran has learned from Iraq's Basra misfortune.

The Iranian program is dispersed, hidden and buried, making it very unlikely that a single strike could take it out.

The Iranian's have more extensive air defenses than Iraq had, and they're probably on alert.

The Iranian's certainly have folks watching the Israeli airfields for signs of a strike, reducing/eliminating the force multiplier of surprise.

Most important: Everybody in the world knows that it is unlikely the Israeli's could get a strike in without the United States knowing about it. We own the airspace over the Persian Gulf. Unless we've transferred some F-117s or B-2s to Israel, they don't have stealthy enough aircraft to sneak through. Which means we either have to stop them coming through, or join in to boost the chance of success.

Either way, counting on the Israelis to deal with this problem for us is unrealistic.

Israel could, and would,handle it very easily-It's just that the Middle East wouldn't stand for Israel going after their crazy Muslim brothers.

I understand completly, The main reson I ask is there defense minister said they where looking at the possibility. I know this has been a posibility for a while.

Our Intelligence in the US is Great but the Intelligence agencies in Israel are beyond belief.

Well He did say he was trying to get things ready for his messiah. Who knows! Maybe he is trying to. I just think this is going to brew outta control, matter of fact, I believe it already is and that time will tell.

But I would almost be certain if he does get nuclear capability he will attack Israel, and I don't think he will be alone.

Mr. Yoopr, with all due respect, U.S. intelligence is a joke as is homeland security..I live on the border of Mexico and Texas and it would blow your mind how easy it is for a Mexican to cross over...now can you imagine what well financed, well trained terror fanatics can do by just getting through this "security" ? It not unfathomable to believe that they have not crossed over already via this avenue. Not to mention the tunnels that were recently discovered in California. One of the Few things I disagree with President Bush on is the Border issue.Canada lets ANYBODY in and then they're coming through on the Northern and Southern Border.
BUT, you KNOW that there are probably THOUSANDS of times that we haven't heard of where Terrorist Plans have been stopped.
