Moderators, Take at the trash!

Moderators,

Over the last several months, there has been a trend on several of the forums, of certain posters slamming anything that is said, typical CB Trash Talk. Many people come here to ask a legitimate question, get some advice, or just try to start a topic of interest, and the BS starts. An individual answers a question in an honest, well thought out manner, and he/she gets slammed with numerous stupid and off topic remarks. Forbid anyone post an interesting topic of technical interest, it quickly gets sidetracked to obscenity.

Not only do drivers, potential drivers and their spouses read this board, but members of the general public that just want to get a better idea about truckers and their lives read, and boy do they get an eyeful.

There have been many post that are disgraceful and uncalled for!

I know the large number of post on a daily basis is hard to keep up with, but could someone please clean this place up and throw the trash out. Trucking has a bad enough public image, and reading some of the BS on this side does not help.

Will put some together when I shut down tommorow, getting ready to catch some sleep for tommorows run. But there are plenty of derogatory remarks just in the last week on the New Driver Get help forum. Any string that relates to radios, especially the one were conversations get going regarding illegal operations. Anyway, will see what I can work up tommorow.

There have been 2 posters that I have had issues with, but for some reason have not seen them in the last couple of weeks.

Keep in mind, though, that we aren't going to shut down a thread and ban a poster for disagreeing with you, either. Some posters are more colorful than others, some are more straight forward. But most people don't cross the line. Some may walk on it, but most people here know what the limts are.

If you point out a thread and we find that a poster stepped over the line, we will take appropriate action. But as far as garbage on this forum, I'll call that one as off the mark. Comparitively speaking, this forum has a more mature atmosphere than some of the others. Sure, you'll see bickering and some potshots taken at people, but overall, the forum is pretty self-policing.

But as Scoe said, shoot us the links and we'll take a look.

Here is one for you, the entire string is irrelavant and childish. But this quote below is typical of this guy and another which have posted on the same string. No substance, no intelligence, just aggrevating stupidity.

The trucking industry wants respect, but we have stupidity like this being posted on this and other forums, as well as on the public radio (Citizens Band), they will not be any respect given, as the typical public, only remembers the BS and not the good stuff. Not to mention allowing and glorifying illegal activities,, be it they actually participate or are just dreaming.

Ray, These guys are goating you! They have no better thrill in life to aggrevate law abiding people.

Word of advice! QUIT!

I like you, do not condone or participate in unlawful activities, but these guys are just CB Rambo's, that probably own nothing more than a Cobra 25. Real professionals would not participate in this stupidity.

Use your talent and abilities elsewhere, and leave this guys to dream and act stupid.

If the moderators would do their jobs, and not condone the activities they claim to be participating, they would be warned and/or taken from the board. But since you encourage the comedy hour, they get away with it.

If you have something of value to post, then do it, but do not respond to the stupid comments after the fact. I have found myself doing that much to often.

no no ,calling people stupid is fine, and it's "goad" not goat. we tried to talk sense into ray but he posts the same thing over and over and over so we just decided to have fun with it, if it bothers you so much dont read it, ray doesnt seem to have a problem with it, he is a big boy and can defend himself.

And as far as rule number 3, you so conveniently point out, I am not attempting to be a back seat moderator, I am merely pointing an issue that needs to be addressed, which is condoning illegal activity.

As far as pointing at the obvious, in telling the other individual to look in the mirror, it was his statement that was vulgar and name calling. I just suggested that he should take a closer look at his own activities.

Of course the 3 biggest instigators on the group would bunch up to try and bully a legal advocate off the group. Your points and statements are only going futher to prove the point that I am asking the moderators to look into. So keep up the good work, you all are doing great.

The promotion of illegal activities in any form should not be condoned on and open forum, that the public or the government may have access too! It does not help the tarnished image of the industry in a time we are trying everything possible to keep from having further restrictions added and make the Mexican fleets look that much better.

That's downright laughable. This is America. People are allowed to give their OPINIONS on things (even on this private message board, which doesn't restrict it for the most part). I can freely give my opinion that I feel everyone should break the law if I choose to do so. That doesn't make it more than an opinion.

Yes, you have the right to say as you wish, but that does not make it correct. And does not make it acceptable in a public forum. No different then the BS that is spewed over the CB day in and day out. Truckers think the CB belongs to them, it does not, it belongs to all Citizens that operate in the band legally in this country. Nobody has the right to publicly spew vulgarity, or operate illegal activities on the Citizen Band.

In you and others opinions, someone that attempts to promote a better moral value, are the outlaws, the ones to be punished, as it does not meet the attitude you choose to live. I am sorry, you are wrong!

That was uncalled for.

First of all, let's get something straight right off the bat. This is a trucking board - not a Ham Radio board. What we have here is a non-trucker complaining because CBer's are bleeding over into his precious 10-meters. And to date, he is still here. Imagine that. We moderate under guidelines that have been set down for us by the owner of the board and one of those big guidelines is to not over-moderate. This falls right into that bucket.

As far as Ray goes, he slams on truckers all the time and they turn around and slam back. At the moment, it has never gotten to the point where we had to hand out bans. It has been mildly entertaining for both sides, apparently. But I guarantee you that if it gets to that point, Ray would be the first to go.
