For a whooping $312 they lose their ACC crown in football. What's worse was that it started with a problem in the basketball program and the NCAA stumbled onto an ineligible player on the football team. As a school, they were find $100K and 4 years probation even though there was an attempt to cover it up by the AD. The basketball team lost the number of days it's allowed to recruit. No loss of scholarships or postseason bans for coach's helping host an on campus youth b-ball tourney for the last 10 years which is considered illegal scouting.
Booker should have f-ing knew better unless he had done it himself while playing there.The NCAA said Georgia Tech should have declared receiver Demaryius Thomas ineligible after he accepted $312 worth of clothing in ’09 from former Yellow Jackets quarterback Calvin Booker, who was working for a sports agent at the time.
