I WOULD RATHER BE HATED FOR WHO I AM, THAN LOVED FOR WHO I AM NOT
The true GREAT's keep leaving us. The real ball players who didn't need steroids to perform and who played for the love of the game, not the money.
I thought athlete's today STILL say they don't do it for the moneyThe same ones who say that also say, "yeah, I don't do it for the money, but I won't take less than $150 million". It is also sad to not see the "loyalty" to teams much anymore. There are a few who are toughing it out and have been with the same team for years, in all sports, and then you have the ones in search of that extra million. It is sad, I think, to not be able to see the ones, much more, who TRULY play "For the Love of the game".
I WOULD RATHER BE HATED FOR WHO I AM, THAN LOVED FOR WHO I AM NOT
Randy Johnson, Griffey and Ripken were my favorite's in baseball. Only Ripken stayed with the O's even though he had the chance to leave several times. The other 2 simply wanted to win so they moved on from Seattle. I also don't think Seattle at the time had any plans in place to put talent around both of them to win, so why stay?
Harmon Killebrew always thought it was his picture that was used for the MLB logo design, but the designer never real knew himself.
