    Default Score of Texas/Alabama game?

Okay boys and girls it'll come down to this Thursday night when Texas and Alabama go at it for the National Championship. Anybody wanna venture a guess at the score/outcome? I kinda think the Horns are gonna sneak up on Bama and take it all.

    Bama 39 - Texas 10

I don't think Texas will have a chance. I might be surprised, and I might have to eat my words, but I don't see them touching Bama.

I dunno know Jackrabbit. Bama might have a mild case of the Big Head with Mark Ingram winning the Heisman and all the post season hype. I'm thinkin' Mack Brown, Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley might have a few surprises up their sleeves. HOOK 'EM HORNS!!

    31-0 Bama

Texas doesn't have a running game unless McCoy breaks the pocket and scampers around. That in itself will kill Texas, Bama is too good in the secondary. Without having to worry about giving help to stopping the run the Bama secondary can sit back and play the pass all night. McCoy cannot run around all night being the only offense, not against a Bama D that is real physical nor can he sit back in the pocket and fling the ball around without getting it picked off a bunch of times.

On Defense Texas will have to stop Ingram but at what cost? Bring 8-9 guys up into the box and leave your corners all alone on an island and hope they can match-up? If they can't match-up then Muschamp will have to back a man or two out of the box and that is when Ingram will break out the Roll Tide on the Horns.

Wow, Mr. Ford, I figured Texas would atleast get a field goal.

I was listening to the guys on ESPN yesterday evening. They talked about Texas' rush D. They mentioned Texas only giving up an average of 60-some odd rush yards/game. Texas is in the Big 12. Most of the Big 12 schools run the spread offense, and their non-conference schedule is full of cupcakes.
The worst thing Texas can do is put 8 men in the box. They do that, and Bama will eat up the seconday with their passing game. At the same time, Bama can also spread the field, and get Texas in a zone coverage, then hit them with the running game.
Texas will have to milk the clock. Short passes, and try to play smash-mouth.

The Texas D is gonna have their work cut out for them Thursday. Coach Muschamp is gonna be earning his money. The Bama D is most likely gonna give Texas several different looks like they did against Florida. This promises to be one helluva game!

That is a biggie on the clock management. Shorten the game as much as possible and hold onto the ball as much as possible. Their best weapon could be as simple as playing keep away, keep the Bama offense off the field and attempt to wear down the Bama D. I do not foresee the Bama D allowing that though, they are just too darn good. Texas was lucky to survive the smash-mouth game with Nebraska who isn't near as good as Bama is right now. You also have to remember what Saban did to Florida with just 1 off week before the SEC Title game, he drew up a beautiful game plan all the way around in that short time span. He's been given nearly a month to get ready for Texas............
