Phelps kicked some ass. It wasn't the most surprising performance at the Olympics. Sonni winning the 200 Breast is a bigger upset. I coached swimming for 30 years before going trucking and am friends with Phelps coach.

I heard that. He beat Mark Spitz's record...I remember when SPitz set that one!!!
I love beach volleyball,
Dalhouser/Rogers make it exciting.
Misty May/Kerri Walsh kick ass, they make it look so easy.
I have been watching the beach volley ball as well....I agree Dalhouser/Rogers play a great game.Originally Posted by Trukrswyfe

Did you see the women's singular vaulting? Alicia was robbed. How can the gold go to someone that stumbled and then went out of bounds on each vault. Then the silver goes to the Chinese and she landed on her knees. I was shocked watching that. so sad.Originally Posted by Drew10

I enjoy anything that doesn't involve judges. Anything with judges is rigged and fixed, period. That's been the case throughout the gymnastic competitions and once more proved to me why I hate that f'ing garbage. Don't get me wrong...I love watching the gymnasts, but I can't make myself watch it knowing that the results are already pre-determined. It's like professional wrestling.

It was fun watching Phelps, though. No judges there...no way to get screwed. But he owes at least one of those medals to Lochte. Lochte catching that big-mouthed French fool in the 400 was one of the highlight moments of the Olympics.
EDITED TO ADD: I would have made the same point about the Chinese vaulter landing on her knees, but still getting a 15+, enough to put her .02 points ahead of the American, who nailed 2 excellent vaults.
Have to agree completely. I don't like watching any event that's "judged" either. :wink:Originally Posted by Twilight Flyer

finally I have been wondering what is on Phelp's ipod.

It is so true good music equals good performance.
I don't like his music though.
I can't wait till it's over it's screwing up Kudlow and Company. :P
And yet another screw-job.
Luiken and the 12 year old Chinese little girl tie on the uneven bars. So instead of doing the logical thing and awarding 2 gold medals (like they do in track and swimming), they just up and give it to the 12 year old, screwing Luiken out of yet another medal. All 3 of those girls (Luiken, Sacramone, and Johnson) have gotten royally screwed in these Olympics.
I'm starting to hear the rumblings of Americans boycotting the next Olympic gymnastics competition until something is done to avoid the absolute disgrace of this year's competition. I hope it's just more than talk. I know if I were a gymnast, I wouldn't want to compete, knowing that the results were already scripted.
I'll tell you another thing...if I were an Olympic judge or on the IOC committee, I'd come out of Bejing looking to hire a permanent group of body guards.
The Olympics are a total joke anymore.![]()
