Default Pack back in old form!

Well my beloved Pack is back in their true form, waxing the Oakland Raiders' asses 38-7. And the Boys barely got by Detroit 28-27. And the best college football player in the country (namely Arkansas' Darren McFadden) DID NOT win the Heisman trophy last night and I'm still pretty pissed about that. :moose:

Madden said something tonight I hadn't considered. He said the reason Manning, Farve and Brady don't get injured like other Quarterbacks going down lately, is these guys are always moving, or on their toes, and when they throw, they never plant their feet. The ball is gone so quickly, before you can even get to them.

Aikman was totally opposite of that, roadhog. Whenever Aikman had his feet planted, he threw a bullet, and 99% of the time, it was 6 points. When Aikman was younger, and whenever he was forced out of the pocket, he would flat out run over ya. During his later years, if Aikman was hurried, and he didnt have the time to get his feet set, it was ugly. :?

Romo on the other hand, I dont think he ever plants his feet.

I agree with ya, Midnight Flyer. I think Darren should have gotten the Heisman.

As far as the Heisman, you can practically set your clock by the following facts when a QB wins it.

    1. Tebow will declare for the draft.

    2. He'll be a top 10 pick

    3. He'll never amount to anything in the NFL.

If Tebow was smart, he'd stay for AT LEAST one more year, but would be best served by staying for 2. A couple years of maturity before going to the NFL and a couple years as a backup and he could have a great career.

QB's seem to think that winning the Heisman will equate to a stellar NFL career and that's rarely the case, unless they take it slow and smart.

This is very true TF. So many times we've seen Heisman QBs be among the top 10 picks and then don't do squat in the NFL or spend most of their career on the practice squad or on injured reserve. Also they tell everyone they're gonna finish out their senior season in college but when the NFL scouts and agents start waving that big money in front of their face that's the end of that. 8)

Yeah, that's true. Same way with Danny Wuerffel. He was such a standout at Florida, and pretty much did nothing in the NFL.
Look at Troy Smith. He's second-string at Baltimore.

Jason White from OU didnt make the NFL, either. There are a bunch of guys who didnt do squat in the pros.

It's very seldom that a Heisman award winning quarterback does very well in the NFL. If you'll look at history many of the good QBs come from the smaller colleges and oftentimes are not very well known until they get to the pros. Look at Favre, Romo and a host of others who played their college ball at some of the not-so-well-known schools and look at them today. I call it the Diamond in the Rough syndrome. 8)

I think one of the big reasons for the diamond in the rough theory being valid is that there's no outrageous expectations on the guy. Romo? Not even drafted, picked up as a free agent and rode the bench for 4 years. He learned the game, was not rushed, and when he finally went in, he was ready. A well-prepared young QB is going to be a good, solid QB. Romo is turning out to be a great one.

Our injuries continue Midnight-Now Kampman, All Pro and one of the best DL in the League, is hurt. Along with KGB-Woodson-Krause-Brett etc etc.
We really need the win Sunday for a bye week yet we need a week off for them to heal and make the run.
Kampman injury came out of the blue to me today

 Damn, Yoop. Is it really eight below up there in the Great White North? You got your snowmobile ready to go? Sounds like The Pack is being held together with chewing gum and bailing wire! What happened to Kampman?

I live about 20 miles east of iron river and my temp is actually -15F right now.
Packers are in a Dilemma right now-We need for our injured guys to sit Sunday and get healthy and at the same time we need a win so we can get a bye week

Yooper plat them this week then rest them next week HELL yu have the BEARS who are playing their 3rd stringer the Dfense is mailing it in no rushing attack and the passing game is done for. Just have the punter kick it out of bounds and kick the kickoffs out of bounds and you will be fine keep it out of Hesters hands.

Been so long I've forgotten how Orton even plays.
I'd rather have the best of both worlds. Rest all of them for 2 weeks and still capture the bye week.
I saw the Bears/Pack game and Hester is one scarey runner. Has more moves than a big city pick pocket

I just hope Aaron Rodgers is ready to step up to the plate if this year turns out to be the Brett Favre Farewell Tour. I believe he is. 8)
