    Default Kasey Kahne arrested

for a few minutes and no, not by those crazy chicks in the Allstate commercials. Gets a new sponsor, dye's his hair black and now gets it on with a security guard.

I do not believe his spokesman who says, "Kasey tried to go around the guard and the guard ended up on the ground." What a joke of an excuse.

Interesting how different media reports things differently! According to Sirius Radio, NASCAR Channel, he was trying to get his brother into the motorhome lot and the guard would not allow the brother in because of no credential and Kasey tried to step around the guard and knocked him to the ground. The guard apparently went to the Infield Care Center complaining of "High Blood Pressure."

Which is odd with his brother because other than his parents his entire family is part of the pit crew, should have been allowed in with no problems. When I worked as a stagehand at stadiums, I ran into several problems with getting by security. One was because my pass was turned around backwards. The other times was because it was a new guy who didn't know who we were.

Nextel Cup driver Kasey Kahne is under investigation by the Homestead Police Department for pushing a track security guard to the ground Friday before the Craftsman Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

A conflict ensued between Kahne and the security guard after Kahne could not provide the proper credential for his brother, Kale Kahne, in order to enter the drivers' motorhome lot inside the speedway, according to Police Capt. Tom Foglia.

After the incident, Foglia said, the security guard complained his blood pressure had escalated. An emergency vehicle was called and the security guard was taken to the infield care center.

Foglia did not have the name of the security guard or his condition as of early Saturday afternoon.

"We are looking into the matter; the detective is handling it," Foglia added.

After Cup practice on Saturday, Kahne said, "It was all a misunderstanding."

NASCAR officials are aware of the incident and said the sanctioning body will not take action until the local police conclude their investigation.

"We can't comment on that right now," NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said.

Kahne will start third in Sunday's Ford 400, the season finale.

What that doesn't say that Yahoo! Sports is now saying is that there was a prior incident. Some folks without credentials had gotten access to the driver's lot and caused a little ruckus earlier and so the guards were told to tighten the gates up. When his brother showed with no pass, they did their job in not letting him pass thru per their orders. As for the rest, witness' say Kasey pushed the guard to the ground while Kasey and his people say the guard "fell"

No, the rent a cop wasn't doing his job. Kasey's brother is a member of the team, his coach driver, not some fan trying to sneak in. Besides, Kasey vouching for him should be enough to override the rent a cops orders. Barney was just showing off his lack of authority in his minimum wage job.

PTD, see an earlier post I made. I was supposed to have credentials out and showing only to get hasseled by a new guy who didn't know me or the card was turned around backwards. It happens, security was doing their job. Not every security guard knows who these drivers and their families are. Just because you and I know who Kasey's brother is doesn't mean he should slide in with no pass. No ticket, no entry, no exceptions.

Do you even follow NASCAR Smooth?? The first reports indicated that he was indeed handcuffed. Not my facts that aren't straight. Check the link I put in the OP.

Kahne, still in his driving uniform, attempted to walk around the guard and, according to the spokesman, the two bumped and, when Kahne turned around, the guard was on the ground.

Police were called and Kahne spent several minutes in handcuffs before being released. The security guard was checked and released at the infield medical center.

Well, blame whomever wrote the original headline. It read, "NASCAR Driver Kahne Arrested."

Sounds like K. Kahne got into the other "Caine", you know how Miami is. Being that it was a security guard I would side on Kasey's, MOST s. guards are usually way too power hungry and just looking, if not making up a incident so they can act. I say good for Kasey, gotta win over Jr's fans somehow. As kids, my friends and I used to go to the mall with our skateboards and get chased by the rent-a-cops, because you could ALWAYS count on a good chase and story about the guards treating us like we were terrorists trying to blow up the mall and they were saving the universe by tackling us in the parking lot. Pretty funny stuff, at the time. As stated above, I said MOST security guards not ALL, so save the post about your grandpa joe that has worked for 50 years as a guard and blah, blah blah. Peace.
