Kenseth
Hate to say it but, Johnson. Until he is beaten consistently at Lowes, he will always be the favorite. I remember when Gordon was always considered the favortie there with the way he and Evernham dominated everyone much the same as Knaus and Johnson are right now.
Matt's my man but this isn't the year-I think it's gonna be Johnson or Gordon
Hopefully Gordon will get lose and take Johnson out in the first few laps.![]()

Jr. if is motor don't blow, but like Mr. ford said, that 48 owns that track for the time being.
In all thy ways, acknowledge him.
I think Labonte has a good shot at pulling one out of the hat tonight. Qualified 3rd with a GEM motor and he and Doug Randolph are looking like a winning combo.
Right now it's hard to bet against Johnson or Gordon. I hope Kenseth wins for the sake of our 4th grade neighbor next door. He cries when Kenseth loses.

Looks like that didn't work out for you. Johnson took himself out and Gordon took himself to victory lane. Good race.Hopefully Gordon will get lose and take Johnson out in the first few laps.
If Gordon can keep it up, NASCAR won't be able to cost him another championship.
God I hope they don't cost him a 2nd one with this Chase format. Under the old system, he would have a 498 point lead right now over JJ. He would have won the title in 2004 under the old system, which was the first year of the Chase.
If my Aunt had balls, she'd be my Uncle.![]()
Did you know the reason they made the race to the chase is so Jeff couldn't pass Dale Sr. in number of championships? Really, it's true, an avid 24 fan told me that. :P

No it's true I heard it on the radio,or did I read it on the internet........All Earnhardt fans have threatened to never watch or attend another race if Nascar allows Jeffy to win 7 or dare I say gasp.....more championships.Originally Posted by southernpride

Actually, it's more like your uncle had his balls removed to become your aunt(you sure have strange relatives). Now, even though your "Aunt" knows "her" operation was wrong, "she" knows it is to much trouble to put things right again. If my Aunt had balls, she'd be my Uncle.
If NASCAR had just been smart enough to make a race win worth a lot more points, they would have never needed to go to the chase format.
Just go to an F1 style points system, only score the Top 10 and the heck with everyone else. We'd see a heck of a battle with 43 drivers going for 10 points paying spots.![]()
Ok the points system needs an overhaul. YES. But the chase makes it better TV towaqrds the end of the season, which is when NASCAR was loosing viewers.
All you conspirAcy theorists need to check into a padded room with butlers in white suits! Thats assanine, and "fans" making threats like that need to check their heads too. NASCAR has no controll over stuff like that. It's all about business! Why would they try get the most unliked man in the sport another championship? ( i cant stand him) but i'll admit he's doing something right, and laughing all the way to the bank!
Robby Gordon has got to be a close second as most unliked though. He is a P*R*I*C*K!!
"7-FORTY-7 LOGISTICS, Inc."
Robby hardly gets noticed during driver intro's. It's the other drivers who don't like him. They will race with him but he doesn't exactly hold their respect due to some of his lowball moves he has pulled on the track.
Jeff Gordon is the #1, #2 and #3 worst booed. JJ is next with the Busch brothers being right there. At Richmond(an Earnhardt faithful track) this past September, Junior was booed worse than Gordon, Johnson and the Busch brothers combined.
Southern, we're being smart*****es about the system. It's all in jest. We all know, and this coming from an avid Gordon fan in myself, that Jeff will not get to 7 championships before he retires. We just like to stir the pot on how NASCAR has screwed him of a chance at it. Columnist David Poole seems to be the ring-leader of that conspiracy, he is forever harping on it and how NASCAR is trying to run Jeff Gordon out of town. Gordon could have 6 titles right now, the other being in 1997 I think, when Gordon teammate Terry Labonte won the title by 30 points with a broken hand during the last few races. Yeah, NASCAR made Terry drive with a broken hand.
I'm sure the same conspiracy crap was made when Earnhardt tied Petty, that he never won another title because NASCAR and Bill France wouldn't stand for it.
