Stanford did what they had to do when they caught the good breaks. Big 4th and 20 conversion and got help with a USC penalty on 4th down while Stanford was lining up a FG to keep the drive alive.

Because the NCAA is run by a bunch of old crap-heaps that take their marching orders from the same boosters that make illegal payments to student-athletes. NCAA Football is one of the most corrupt sporting organizations there is.

How about Nick Saban and the Illini. Florida runs him out on a rail basically and he goes to the University of Illinois. Now in the last 2 weeks they have knocked of 2 Top 25 teams and last week beat the #5 team in the nation Wisconsin. Not bad for someone that supposedly can not coach HUH.

My Sooners, too! How about that Red River Shootout? My daughter and son-in-law live close to Austin and they're both rabid Longhorn fans. Had to rub it in a little about Stoops' boys kicking the Horns. Damn, wish we could play that Colorado game over. We'd be Number 1!

You actually should be a tiny bit worried.

Here's the deal with the Cyclones. They have a new coach with a new system. He'll be the guy that takes the Clones to the next level, no doubt. but this is his first year.

Currently, he has a good group of talented players: Meyer at QB, Blythe at WR and he's a guy that in another sytem with good supporting receivers, could put himself in a position to be a top 10 pick in the draft. They've got a couple of good RBs and one of the best defensive players in college and Ace Bowen. So the cast is there - problem is, they are attempting to acclimate to a different style of coaching. They show flashes of brilliance at times, but mostly, they still look somewhat muddled and confused. When they played and beat the Hawkeyes, they played an almost perfect game. And they played them at home for a full 4 quarters.

As I have told lots of Hawk fans here (who are still mostly whizzed off, by the way), the Clones have the talent and the coach to shock anybody this year, if they can put it all together for 4 full quarters. But that's the key...4 full quarters. If the Sooners come to town and the Clones play a full mistake-free game like they played against the Hawks, Oklahoma will be in for a rude awakening. However, to this point, the only full game they've played this year was that one against the Hawks.

Give Chizek next year to get to around .500, then after that, he should start putting ISU into bowls again. ISU's A.D. wants ISU on the National Map, says Chizek is the man to do it, and is backing ISU athletics and their coaches up with big time money.

Look what Zook is doing at Illinois this is the same coach that was RUN out of Gainsville as someone that could not coach. Yet they have beat 2 straight ranked teams and almost came back and beat Missouri the first game. They are getting ready to lock him up for years. He is a recruiting machine and also gets some of the best players in the state of IL to stay home plus gets the best players in the nation to come to IL soon.

Although I am a die hard sooner fan and grew up in Norman for part of my life. The last several year have taught me never overestimate a team. IF we had beaten Colorado we might be number 1, BUT we still have problems in the secondary, Linebacker play is hit and miss, receivers sometimes forget which sport they are playing, Stoops hasn't yelled enough on the sidelines, and other than to a little (and I mean little) extent we haven't played anyone. I love my Sooners, but I would rather they be consistent than beat teams by 60 points, then result in Colorado, Kansas State, USC, LSU, Boise State! The best team Stoops had was his second year and we had no Adrian Peterson, No Jason White. Just a bunch of GOOD players who played beyond there capabilities. So no! I am not overlooking Iowa State! But I still make fun of them because, well just because! GO SOONERS!
