    Default Michael Vick

Well, I'm watching Sports Center, and there is a thing about Michael Vick, fighting dogs. They said that Michael Vick owned a house that he used for the dog fighting matches. My wife is up, and she is baking, and stuff for tomorrow. She didnt like seeing the dogs fighting, so I didnt get to see the end of the news thing about it.

As far as I'm concerned it should be outlawed. I thought that sort of thing already was. Doing something like that and using animals. It's out and out cruel!!

There are only about 10 states that allow it. Michael Vick was doing this illegal.

In VA it is illegal and that is supposedly where the house was. New info is saying that Vick was there and knew all about it even though he is saying opposite. Police have an informant that was at the house for almost every fight and said Vick was there and betting.

Put him in jail for it.

Vick is toast and rightfully so. They'll have the proof all layed out in the courtroom and his career is finished. He and his brother should share a cell together. It's a damn shame when people with their kind of talent have no brains in their head at all. I'll bet mamma is so proud of her boys. :x Stupid morons.

Yeah, it's sad that them 2 boys have ruined such talent.

Yoopr, apparently, I mis-understood the guy on TV about the laws. I read online that it is illegal in North America. I reckon, that it is illegal in all states, even though some still fight.

If I remember the story from the other day, I think it's illegal in something like 46 states, including the state where all this happened. He's going to jail.

All but 2 states in the US have outlawed dog fighting. Vick has been quoted as saying that he was called to the house by police because it was a house he owned and that he was never there nor knew anything about it beforehand. The informant says different and now Vick ain't saying a word. If video evidence of his presence shows up, he is toast for sure but word of mouth may not fly if he has a good lawyer. Prolly will plea down to a lesser charge and only get a slap on the wrist.

I agree on both, they are complete idiots.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2885891

There's a link to the newest info. Looks like Surrey County wants to make sure they do everything by the book so they can nail a large fish.

Now to play devil's advocate here, I agree that dog fighting is wrong and should be outlawed everywhere. Wyoming and Idaho are the only 2 states where it is legal. BUT, if it is so wrong then why are boxing and UFC ok?? Aren't they just as inhumane?? Your putting 2 grown men in a ring and letting them beat the snot out of one another and oh by the way you could be killed in the process. Isn't that being a major hypocrite or is it different because it's a human instead of an animal?? I don't see it as any different, if your going to allow boxing and UFC then you should allow dog fighting and such. If your going to ban one, then ban the others.

Mr. Ford people (men & women) are able to speak up for themselves. No one can make them do something they don't want to do. Animals don't have that option.

    Drive safe everyone.

So if say Vick had these dogs and let them outside with the intent that they were getting outside and that was it and they got to fighting on their own, that would be ok?? As long as betting and stuff wasn't taking place??

    Just checking here that's all.

Now you're trying to rationalize it. :? Sometimes, dogs get into fights. Thing about that is, most times those fights end when one of the dogs runs off the other. There may be some bite marks and scratches, but both dogs are very, very seldom going to be badly hurt. That's just standard animal behavior.

In dog-fighting, however, these dogs are bred to be vicious. Then they are put into a small ring with nowhere to run, meaning they are forced to fight to the death or damn near it. Other than chicken-fighting (couldn't say the 'C' word...edited it out. ), it's one of the most brutal spectacles there is and the dog has no choice but to kill or be killed.

I hope Vick goes up for a long, long time. :x

Unfortuntely TF the odds of him going to prison for a "long, long time" are remote due to his celebrity status but let's hope the norm is broken here and he gets what he deserves and the trend of letting celebrities off with a slap on the wrist is broken.

    Amen to that. *sigh*

The one thing that better happen is that he gets kicked out of the N.F.L.

I think Oklahoma still hasnt outlawed chicken fighting. :?

Yeah, it's sad that these dogs are bred that way. That's why I've never liked being around domesticated pit bulls. A friend of mine has 2. She has never been bit, nor attacked, but she's got more guts than me.

It's gonna be interesting what's gonna happen to Vick. If he sees jail time, or no more NFL, or what.
