    Default Texas Motor Speedway.

Well, we have two maintance guys at our apartments. Both of them run stock cars. One of them has a Pony Stock, and his son drives it. The other has a IMCA modified. In fact, a couple friends of mine race with them. Or against them. :P I saw one of them this morning when I went to down to check on the laundry. He was taking out clothes to his pickup, and he was telling about them racing at the 1/2 mile dirt track down there at Texas. Jay, the guy who has the modified is gonna race down there. He told me that some of the big boys are gonna be there. He heard that Tony is gonna be there, and Kenseth(spelling),and some more, but he couldnt remember who. I asked him if it was televised, but he didnt think it was. I told him that it would be funny if Jay ends up winning, and beating some of the big boys. :P

that would be cool to go to. you know the big boys are probably alot more laid back and accessible at those kind of races.

Yeah. That's what I was telling him. It would be cool to be able to run with them.

Yeah, it is huge. I can imagine what the rest of the race tracks look like. My gosh, and the traffic that it brings.

Not out of the norm, a lot of the drivers who came out of the dirt tracks like to go back and race on Friday night or Saturday if they get the time. Kenny Wallace has gotten into that stuff big time, guess he has to since he has the weekends off now. All he has to do is be back at the track by Sunday morning for RaceDay. These are the best times to get down in the pits and meet the NASCAR drivers. They are away from all the stress and headaches and much more fun to be around. Plus everyone else in the field raises their games when the NASCAR boys roll into their domain which can equal one heck of a show.

I love dirt racing. It's funny when they first start. Talk about muddy. Not fun to clean, though. By the time they run the features, they can really get it on.

80 some year old Red Farmer still gets in on around Birmingham, he shows the young kids up all the time. I hear David Pearson has gotten back into the seat and is doing the same stuff. Someone asked him if he would ever consider doing what James Hylton attempted, a small comeback. He said nope, not gonna do it. He's happy with what he has and what his legacy with NASCAR is. Nice to see the older crowd can still put a whuppin on the younger whipper snappers.
