Haz Mat fingerprints

Haven't been able to find an answer to this. Does any know or have they heard, once you have your prints taken, and receive the letter back. How long do you have to add your haz mat before you have to worry about being fingerprinted. I have a friend who had has prints done and passed the background check but never went back and reinstated has haz mat. Under this situation, how long is that background check good for before you have to go back and do it again (the prints)? I did mine, paid the money and added the endorsement even though I ended up not taking the job I needed it for. I figured I paid the money I might as well add it.

Absolutely STUPID to have to be re-printed for every renewal - unless TSA is worried about you sending your cousin Abdul El Salami in to get a CDL in your name. Since MOST STATES have electronic photo DL's (and yer picture even comes up in the cop car's computer when they punch you in), it's ridiculous to suspect an "identity theft" issue, related to renewals.

What a WASTE OF TIME AND $$ (something the government is an EXPERT AT).

I renew my carry permit every 7 years - and all they require is a recent photo - and that covers me for anything I can hide on my person, as long as it's legal to own.

if i read your question correctly, u have taken the fingerprints and background but havent yet reinstated or taken the test for hazmat??

That is correct. Had a job lined up where it was needed and then the job offer fell throught before taking the test and adding the endorsement. Now Have an opportunity to use it, but...

I think that if I had gone to the expense of paying for the background check that I would have had the endorsement added to my license.
