how old was it
This is classic. A rookie named "Novice" answering another rookie. Nearly a month old tho... so the original poster probably isn't checking in for an answer.
But, just in case... No. A "reckless" ticket, by itself, will not be a deal breaker. It IS a "major violation" though, and you cannot get another "major" within 3 years or the DOT will give you a 2 month "vacation."
SOME companies may not hire you with this single "major" violation. But, it's not as bad as a DUI. MANY companies will still hire you.
But, you have to consider how this looks to prospective employers... who have to answer to their insurance companies. A "reckless" driver, at the wheel of one of their 80k pound missiles, could be a liability.
If you want to be a "professional" truck driver... you need to make sure you are grown up enough to leave reckless driving behind you. Absolutely NO place for it in this business.
Remember... friends are few and far between.
