    Default One seat or two?

I hope this section is where this question goes.

Is it mandatory to have a passenger seat? I am thinking of removing the passenger seat and building a "cabinet" in it's place to hold a computer and printer along with misc other items.

    Thanks.

no, there are no rules concerning passenger seats, if it's a company truck though, you will need permission to remove it, but I'm sure you know that

We have a company driver who removed his passenger seat and put a refrigerator in it's place.

    Thanks for the responses.

This is not a company truck....well.....my company, but I don't think I'll say anything.

I took the seat out myself, and put down hardwood flooring, a big fridge, microwave, flatscreen etc. I had DOT look at it, and say "nice" but nobody bothered me for not having a passanger seat...

A "big fridge? A T.V.? You didn't place anything in the way of your view out that window did you? Apparently not if DOT didn't object.

One thing to keep in mind; if you remove a seat from your cab, you will be giving up an important "asset"!!

No. The fridge and thre mirowave on top are on the right hand side of the bed, where the cabinet used to be. A lot more space freed up in the bunk. It's like having a studio apartment, less the john of course... one day. lol

This thread should be dead, but since it isn't, I took my passenger seat out just for the weight gain. 110 lbs means carrying approx 15 more gallons diesel. Yes, it sucks always grossing 80K.
