what about those fruitcakes from CRASH and PATT? Aren't they saying anything about the loss of a "quality sleep or resting environment" for the drivers? I see a lot of bad things happening out there because of this.

    (1) shall not idle the vehicle’s primary diesel engine for greater than 5
minutes at any location (please see “When can I idle?”)

    When can I idle?
Idling is allowed under these circumstances:

    · Idling of the main engine during sleeping or resting in a sleeper berth beyond 100 feet from any
    restricted area (homes and schools)
    · Idling when the vehicle must remain motionless due to traffic conditions
    · Idling when the vehicle is queuing that at all times is beyond 100 feet from any restricted area

    · Idling when operating defrosters, heaters, air conditioners, or other equipment to prevent a safety

I found this on the same page... now i am so confused.
[color=green]Look at the dates. The one you quoted was the law in February 1, 2005. The one I quoted became effective on JANUARY 1, 2008.

I went back and got that from the 2008 revisions and when i asked the communist there this what i got for them..

They may lose some O/O drivers, but companies in Cali will just wind up dealing with shippers that force dispatch. Maybe some company will give one more penny per mile in the state.

Well, everyone else can have California. Have you seen the rates out of there lately? Horrible. And there is certainly not an abundance of loads out there anyway. I'll be damned if I'm gonna haul out there for $1.50 and have to suffer in the summer or winter temps. Not this guy.
There are much better places to go with much higher speed limits and much better traffic.

Ur right and did U know that Cali hasn't fallen in to the ocean because it sucks. I just moved my family to Tennessee to escape the BS there.

I thought it would improve under a (R) Gov. Nope it's getting worse. Duncan Hunter is pushing for a limit on truck traffic now. He wants to specify the "roads of approved travel" for semi commerce. WTF Are they going to lump it in now?

Or, are they going to take us back to train loads only killing the trucker income?
