Never said it was possible. Driving a truck is all about balancing the possible and saying no to the impossible. If a dispatcher is giving you illegal dispatches, it will be on your shoulders to protect yourself and your CDL and say no.

If you're working for a major company and you've got a dispatcher that wants to run you illegal, go over his head. A supervisor is going to have a decidedly different take than the dispatcher. But if it's an ongoing problem, then it's on you to move to another company before it comes back and bites you in the backside.

Unfortunately, when you end up with tickets and accidents and late loads, then it's already too late.

The FMCSA and the states have set rules that YOU as the driver of that truck are constrained to abide by. YOU are the one responsible for breaking those rules and YOU knew better when you were doing it. So, don't get on here wanting to blame everyone else. I don't give a damn what your dispatcher told you. Be a man and run your world. Don't act like a sissy because you got caught doing what YOU knew better than to do.

Bandit, you did point something out here, that is: me being a man and to control my world.

As far as the rest of your paragraph, the drivers are the ones getting yelled at regardless if they do the right thing or not. I am not placing blame at anyone here, just pointing out an obvious fact.

damn, he talks more circles than a woman. i am still confused, does he want to, or not want to drive a truck? shippers have nothing to do with your DAC...the company you drive for does. if you deliver on time you have nothing to worry about. if you run legal you have nothing to worry about. therefore there is nothing to worry about, manage your time and everything will be alright.

Only reason I'm not driving is due to the fact that I didn't utilize all the tools at my disposal.
I felt groggy during the last CA-WY trip I did with Swift and I could've sent in a MACRO-22(?), and saved myself the trouble.
But, no. Arrogance and no-rest kill my job again.
I'm still going to petition to get myself back with them.
Perhaps the OP should also if he hasn't already done so.

Kreeper you have to tell them no, I can't do it. There is no possible way I can get from point A to point B in the alloted time you gave me. The delivery time will have to be rescheduled.

My husband actually asked a bad dispatcher once, what do you want me to do, do the impossible and run illegal? Of course the dispatcher came back and said they don't ask their drivers to do that. My husband explained why the run set up the way it was couldn't be done under the HOS rules, or even illegally for that matter.

He did have somewhat of a fight between the dispatcher and I believe a manager about not being able to run during the day and night. They kept telling him that he is a truck driver and they run when they need to run.

He explained that once you start driving the 11 and 14 hour clock starts. If the clock starts at 5 am then the 14 hour clock stops at 7pm. If the pick up 9 am then the 14 hour clock stops at 11 pm. No matter when he drives the 11 hours during the 14, he has to stop when the 14 hours is up. Therefor it would be illegal for him to run at night past the 14 hour clock without the proper 10 hour reset. They didn't say another word.

In a way I still think they were still on the old HOS rules where drivers could run both during the day and night.

He is mostly able to time everything so he does not have to drive past midnight. He knows his limitations, and doesn't try to go beyond them. He will put his foot down and tell the dispatcher to reschedule when he sees he can't do a run legally.

My husband now has a good dispatcher. He is down in Florida right now. Just wait until he has to come back up here and start dealing with the cold weather.

Jed, looks like i might have to pull your head outta your arse.

Yes, i do want to get back into a truck, with any company. However, with my DAC record as screwed up as it is, there will be no way any company is going to touch me. That only leaves me only 1 option, become an owner operator with my own authority. Do not even think i cannot do it, giving everyone a "news flash", i do have management skills aiding me that i never got to use before, now its coming to the forefront and will be used.

Talking in circles? does harrasing me playing a part in this comment below? From this point forth, if you cannot point out my mistake without harrassing, threating, physically touching my person in any which way shape or form, or stating that i'm a complete idiot. Just point out my mistake without insulting me, that is all i am asking.

when was i touching your person? sounds like you are good buddy??? any ways, you are a big dumb ass. i hope this did not hurt your feelings. as for managment skills, i doubt it, but whatever helps you sleep at night and to try to feel superior to what you think truck drivers are. if you cannot keep a clean DAC, then how does your little mind possibly going to handle your own business. ecspecially since you cannot deliver a load on time. good luck my friend, i hope i did not attack you to much.

Before you go to far into being an owner operator with your own authority I would suggest you talk to a few insurance companies. Getting insurance is not easy for a new driver. Then look into how you are going to get loads.

Secondly, I would suggest you look at the total cost in getting your own authority.

Jed, I am not going to get "pissed off" at you. I do wish to point out a few things for you:

    1) Yes, i was a driver, still am, i have over 4 years in the business.

    2) Yes, i do have management skill aiding me, unlike you do.

    3) i believe they call it "running illegal loads" that cannot be legally ran, which i tried explaining to them it cannot be done, they told me to stop crying about it and just deliver it.

    4) Jed, if you so much as had a clue what i had to go through with some of the companies i was with, you would not be stating what you did.

Finally, i am far from being a "complete dumbazz" like you claim i am, read and understand the 4 statements above. Dumbazzes write something like you did and "try" to convince others that the person you are reffering to is a dumbazz. From what i gather from your statement below, you had a really hard childhood, harder than mine.
