    Default I Beat DAC

    Hello All,

I doubt many remember me, but a couple months ago I posted about a problem I was having with My DAC report.

A company I applied at several years ago put a mark on my DAC saying that I was terminated at the company and was not eligible for re-hire.

I never worked for the company, I only applied and ended up taking a different job.

I posted about this a couple months ago and was advised to file a dispute with DAC. I did so and the company never responded to my dispute. After 30 days with no response the record AUTOMATICALLY comes off DAC.

So I am finally clean again. Just dropped off some applications with good paying DAC companies and already got my first callback.

If there is B.S on your DAC you have nothing to lose by filing a dispute, if the company insist DAC leave it on than you have to get a lawyer.

Luckily this wasn't necessary in my case, I guess it was a paperwork mixup at the company or something. But can't help but wonder how many jobs I missed out on because of this.

Thanks for all the great advice here, I'll try to check in more often. See yall on the road.

I wonder if the company gets any sort of mark against them?

I do remember your original post, really happy you got it all sorted out!

It was a couple months ago that it got resolved. I just happened back upon this place and thought I'd give an update to give hope to those screwed over like I was.

When I was talking on the phone with the DAC representative she told me that about half the disputes are never responded to , probably because these companies are so busy trying to make a buck they just assume not deal with stuff like this.

In my case it was legit, but even those who really DID abandon the truck or fail a drug test may get lucky and have stuff like that taken off with a simple dispute filling. They'll take your comments over the phone and send you a new report when it's all done.

    Which company was it?

So there are companies you do not want to even sign up with. Schools too I bet. The first thing they want is ssn and drivers license number.

I'd still see your lawyer about a percentage opportunity. They tried to cut your throat, as well as your family's if applicable!
