Default Why so may drug testing issues nowadays!!!

I figure I would just throw my 2 cents in on this.

You know you will get drug tested!!! You know it is illegal to do!!! So why do you guys do it? What is up with the mentality of you people today.

My thoughts. The world is changing. We live in the most screwed up society in the world. Yeah its still supposedly free, BUT!

We give in to politicians and dont stand up for anything anymore. We bow our heads at high fuel and gas prices knowing the gas companies are making millions. Do you really need 37 million dollars profit or billion whatever it was.

We eat wrong. We smoke. We are rude. We have no patience. we have no common sense. We have a tolerance for stupidity. We have kids killing each other. etc ....

And then we have these I will say young adults and college educated people who think its cool to get high and then go drive a big rig.

You know what I used to smoke pot 15 years ago. Does it make me bad? NO, Was it right? NO. But you know what I woke up and realized that for better things I would not be able to do those things. You people on here asking what is gonna happen to you cause you smoked a joint have really got to get a clue. How the heck did you get your license to drive a truck if you were smoking the hemp? And do you really expect anyone to give you a second chance driving one of these things knowing that you are a burner.

If your a burner go work for Mc donalds or BK or go be a rock star. You obvioiusly have no clue or reality of the choices you make and then getting behind the wheel of a big rig with those burned up brain cells. You people follow my wife and my kids!!! Get off the road and let the non burners do the job.

Go back to your college educated snooty office hijinx jobs and get a clue of reality.

    Thanks
If you are not sure you should do it, then don't!

I have been pondering a question for a few weeks what if you went to a place where smoking dope was ok for vac then came back to the states and was popped for a drug screen? they were at the time of comsuption a legal drug and you were not breaking any laws doing them, then can it be used against you?

NO i dont plan on going somewhere to dope it up etc its just one of those things you think of during your time to ponder and debate with yourself over :P

That is the BEST question I have heard in a long time. It sounds like something I always came up ............uh....... I might come up with if I WERE high. :P I had better refrain from posting any kind of reply with my thoughts on the subject as I am likely to stick my foot in my mouth.
Find something you like to do, be the best at it you can be, the money will come.

My father is a headhunter- an executive recruiter. He mainly works with companies to place high-level engineers.

Not too long ago he found the rare PERFECT candidate. The company was ga-ga over him, offered all sorts of bonuses and relocation, the whole deal.

The f***tard failed the drug test. My father works on a 15% commission on base salary for placements. This guy cost him, oh... about $20,000.

The guy told my father, "I'm sorry, I didn't think it would show up."

My dad, being my dad and full of great quotes said, "Don't apologize to me- I'll be alright. Apologize to your wife and kids for failing them. As for the statement 'I didn't think it would show up', well- that's actually two statements. 'I didn't think,' and, 'it would show up.'"

Good point about being legal in some countries and then returning to work and there is a drug test. I would say you don't have a leg to stand on in court if you did come up positive. Now they might be forced to offer you drug classes and return after that.

The rules are pretty clear about this subject.

40.151 What are MROs prohibited from doing as part of the verification process?

    (d) It is not your function to consider explanations of confirmed positive, adulterated, or substituted test results that would not, even if true, constitute a legitimate medical explanation. For example, an employee may tell you that someone slipped amphetamines into her drink at a party, that she unknowingly ingested a marijuana brownie, or that she traveled in a closed car with several people smoking crack. MROs are unlikely to be able to verify the facts of such passive or unknowing ingestion stories. Even if true, such stories do not present a legitimate medical explanation. Consequently, you must not declare a test as negative based on an explanation of this kind.

    (e) You must not verify a test negative based on information that a physician recommended that the employee use a drug listed in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. ( e.g., under a state law that purports to authorize such recommendations, such as the "medical marijuana" laws that some states have adopted).

    (f) You must not accept an assertion of consumption or other use of a hemp or other non-prescription marijuana-related product as a basis for verifying a marijuana test negative. You also must not accept such an explanation related to consumption of coca teas as a basis for verifying a cocaine test result as negative. Consuming or using such a product is not a legitimate medical explanation.
