Default Insurance Renewal Rates

Well, it is time to renew my insurance. I got back the first quote today and it was not quite what I expected, to say the least. My quote was about 20-22% higher this year than last. I have an excellent safety record, longevity, excellent MVR and safety scores and yet was hit with this much of an increase. Last year I was hit with an increase of about 8-10% and the year before was about 10-15%. This is really nuts!! I am shopping around. I switched to a different company last year due to the increase. The new company was about $100 different from my old insurance company. I figured that if my old company doesn't appreciate customers with no claims and excellent safety and mvr's then they don't need my business. Instead of getting a bump in rate, the insurance company lost several thousand dollars in premium. It seems that we are going to do the same thing this year. If I can't get a good rate with my new/current company then I will move to yet another insurance company. My agent did find another company that quoted about $300 less on the premium. It isn't enough. I was wondering whether anyone else is seeing this much of an increase in their insurance rates?

So they say...
insurance cartels are paying out more than they are taking in, so everyones rates go up, regardless of how clean your record is.

liberals were in control of our state for years and have liberal policies that have made michigan auto insurance the most expensive insurance in the entire world.
works great for the politicians and lawyers, and keeps them in gravy.
people in michigan pay an average of 8% of their income for auto insurance, where as most states you pay 2% of your income.

we have a huge protected class in michigan, that don't have to insure their car, or even get a drivers license, and now they feel they shouldn't have to use their taxpayer welfare to pay their water bill…. because they think it is a human right. Everything now is a "right" to this scum, and they demand more. This cradle to grave is never enough, so everyone in michigan must pay more, for redistribution to the parasite community.

this is coming to your state, and your cities will soon look like Detroit, a 3rd world black hole…unless you are lucky to live in a Red state, there may still be some hope for you.
No hopey changy in michigan, we are lost and they keep sending us more useless idiots to support, from muslim, hispanic and afrikan countries.

it effects everything from insurance rates to cost of bread. this entitlement society is sucking the life out of everything…. BY DESIGN

michigan has lowered it's food stamp assistance 4x in the last year…. and it's just a matter of time, before the entitlement society goes apesheit.

we need a 18 trillion dollar bailout, or we are going to take you all down with us

Well there are only 3 companies that write truck insurance policies, so no matter how many agents you call you get the same story, and mostly the same quote, I even had one guy ask me ow many agents I called.......probably because he found out from the ins company, told me good luck finding it any cheaper

Bottom line is they want to eliminate independents, plain and simple, it was done in Australia by the govenment and big trucking, as told by a friend of mine over there...........look around its happening here, most of ther "new" rules are GREAT for companies, but crap for indys

My insurance, liability, cargo, all of it is just over 10 grand this year........how much will I pay????? I'm not sure yet, BUT when I see THAT number, thats it.....I'm done

Ouch!!!!! $10 grand/?!! I paid less than 1/2 that last year and I just got a quote from my agent and the lowest so far is a tad over $5,500. That is still a big jump for me. It is a lot more than I paid a few years ago. I spoke with one insurance agent earlier and he told me that the rates he is seeing for those starting out is in the $10-12,000 range. One company that he mentioned is paying $18,000!!??? I think he hauled cars and had $500,000 cargo. I have had three different agents tell me that I had a squeaky clean record, yet I am still seeing a huge rate increase. I believe that there are about 15 insurance companies that write commercial truck insurance. It is still a small pool of companies.

I do live in a red state, fortunately. There are still a lot of freeloaders in my state. I read that our governor and state is taking a lot of heat from Obama and company about not setting up a state exchange for his fiasco of a health insurance tax. The feds are pushing my state to expand Medicaid. A number of states, including my own, are pushing back. Of course, Obama's corrupt injustice department plans on suing to get their way. They don't have time to enforce the laws other than to push states to comply with their illegal tax. I hope more states will stand up to Obama and company. I hope congress doesn't give him a dime for immigration. He would just squander it to bring in more illegals.

I actually got lucky. Mine stayed the same. My agent told me the ins companies are looking at safety records more then claims.

Then again maybe it did go up. I was also told because I'm still a "new" business (3 years under my own DOT#) it should go down.

Reason I brought it up, is this administration under Obama wants to overwhelm and bankrupt this country, and they are being very successful destroying the middle class, the WORKING class.

Congress doesn't NEED to give Obama any emergency funding, as the filthy liar already has more than enough resources/money and flexibility to ACT in every area necessary to FIX things.
Obama CREATED this problem and has no intention of stopping it. It is working very well for him.
He hired dozens of LaRaza commie lawyers to help facilitate this invasion. This is a highly coordinated operation.

OBAMA gave an OPEN INVATATION to come to amerika, with no threat of being turned away, in 2012 with his executive order Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Fact; flow of apprehended children
2012 ... 6,500
2013 … 60,000
2014 projected 150,000 [numbers reflect captured---real numbers multiply by 3? 4? 10?]

those numbers are just what is being caught, so keep in mind, it is a fraction of what is coming across. Once they get here, many are processed and taken to a bus stop, and allowed to go anywhere they wish. So what we are seeing is a small taste of what is coming, to small towns as well as our dark hole prog-cities.

Goal--- Obama wants "comprehensive immigration reform" without closing the border. He is USING the children like a human shield, because this criminal president wants to FORCE reform, by making it a crisis. Man made crisis. Phase 2 is stacking the deck at the voting booth, putting communists in power for generations.

Obama wants to make it look like a republican do nothing Congress. Well…. no one trusts this liar. Besides, NO ONE believes there is any difference between republicans and democrats anymore. ONLY the Tea Party stand apposed as conservatives. 60% or more of the republicans are big govt. progressives, just like the communist pigs on the left. The fix is in.

Close the border, then we can talk. He wants an emergency fund of 4 billion right now…. but-but-but you have a tremendous amount of money in the till right now, … 1/2 TRILLION. which is PRESENTLY in the budget for Domestic Security, which includes Border Security. Not ONLY that, but-but-but Congress is already looking at appropriations for next years budget in October. you lawless piece of sheit LIAR.

When you look at the big picture, I am not surprised your insurance goes up, and will keep going up, until Amerika is totally fundamentally transformed.

Why bring this rant into the discussion? I think it applies to why we have higher costs and everything is unravelling, and getting worse day by day.
Eventually you will have to belong to a govt. union to drive for the govt.
