Default Celadon's new truck lease program

I just heard about this *special* deal they have on leasing a new truck (you'd have to be 'special' to take it):

$0.20 per mile truck payment for 48 months
At the end of the contract, you can buy the truck for a small balloon payment of (are you ready for this?)
$75,000

So, after paying $96,000 in regular payments, you can pay the other $75g for a truck that'll have in the range of 500,000 miles on it.

Hell of a deal, right?

Maybe they're jealous of the way CREngland screws their lease operators and want to show them the proper way to do it.

Here's the full thread (so far) that I have going on over at Celadon's facebook page:

Heard something interesting from another driver today: He said that he read somewhere that CDNK is changing their lease/purchase deal so that instead of a set weekly payment, the payment is $0.20 per mile for each mile dispatched. Any truth to that?[/h]LikeUnlike · · 23 hours ago

    • Dennis McKinney If so, does that cover all costs, or only the truck payment? If it's just the truck payment, WOW - you're looking at an average weekly truck payment of over $500.00.23 hours ago · LikeUnlike

    • Jeramie Chastain What are the payments now ?9 hours ago · LikeUnlike

    • David Mahon that is for the new ones, and that is for 4 years, with a balloon payment of 75000 at the end of the lease. WOW. What a deal. LOL4 hours ago · LikeUnlike
    • Dennis McKinney ‎$75g for a truck that'll have half a million miles on it???!?!? I thought drugs were illegal. They need to drug-test anyone that signs that contract on a daily basis.3 hours ago · LikeUnlike

    • David Mahon Well it ends up when you finish the 4 year lease, pay the 75 g and the rest of the incidental charges, you will have paid 180 g for the truck. What a bargain for a great piece of equipment.about an hour ago · LikeUnlike
    • Dennis McKinney Don't forget the finance charges on the 75k. That'll have u paying well over 200k on a 130k truck. Plus no income for the 1st 4 years.
