Is there really anything wrong with your current truck? Your payments will go up, your fuel mileage will go down, and your reliability will go down.

And the maintenance on the DPF is a nightmare too.

i say the one with the cummins. the maxxforce might be great (havent heard much about them but have been seeing a lot of them) but, its the same with that, the volvo, mbe and paccar. i like a motor where it does not have to go to a dealer to be worked on. just the way i look at it though.

Go with the ISX motor. I've been averaging 7.3 mpg in the KW 660 pulling a mix of weight loads from 27k to 45k. This truck has a regen system and I've had no problems with it yet. The jakes are the best I've ever had.

My old (if a 2009 with 320k miles is old) had the ISX. Great pulling truck, great fuel mileage and the engine brake was amazing. I could pull a 45k load across I-64 in WV and, dropping down the mountain east of Beckley, drop to 9th, turn on the engine brake, never touch the service brakes and still be going under 50mph at the bottom.

Congrats - I think you'll be happy with it (as long as yours doesn't go apeshot @ the 300k miles mine decided to).

When my last ProStar was running good (for 200k miles), it ran great. Great pulling power, good fuel mileage (even for someone that idled quite a bit), plenty of storage space, good ride and a fantastic engine brake. I think you'll be happy with it.

Good deal on the fuel mileage. I'm averaging 6.9 in the 2012. That should increase, though, since it only has 6,800 miles on it so far.

I like the engine-off A/C, but I'll tell you what: I'd take the ISX in my old truck ANY day over this MaxForce. Crappy power (has a lot to do with the way they have the rev limiter set up. The engine brake is almost a joke. For some reason, they don't believe me when I tell the shop that the engine brake shuts off above 1,450rpm (we're told that 1,850 is the best rpm for the engine brake). It also has a HUGE delay before it turns on under 1,450. So, by the time it turns on, it's almost to the 1,000rpm cutoff anyway.
