Default Looks like i will be adding a 2nd truck.

    Kinda lol.

I will try to make a long story short.

I will be buying a Part time septic business from a buddy of mine. Just got off the phone with him and we agreed on price and he is willing to sell. We been going back and fourth for months now.

The truck is nothing to write home about but it is a start. 1989 ford f-800 10wheeler. got a 3,000gal steel tank. He has over 460 Customers. He does this part time after his day job and on Saturdays. Charges 220.00 for up to 1500 gallons. The dumping fee is .015/gal. So dumping is cheap.

I drove a septic truck for 3.5 years so this is nothing new to me. When i did it full time in 8hrs i could make anywhere from 900-1300/day on avg. and burn hardly no fuel and go less then 100miles. There is a nice size profit in this business.

Also what is nice i will be paying cash for it. So i will have no payments of any kind. I'm hone almost everyday by 3pm and i can go hit a house or 2 after working the dump truck and still be done by 6 or 7pm.

All this should go down in about a month and half. I have alot of paper work BS to do with the DEP etc. Long term i want to grow the septic and get out of dump trucking. As much as i like dump truckin the profit isn't that big. So overall i think this is a great thing for me.

Next week we meet up to go over everything and i will also ride with him for a day to meet his weekly customers and to see how the truck runs and pumps.

Once all this goes down pictures will follow. Anyway thats my story and i will keep updating it.

Sounds like an interesting business venture. Its a constant thing, its not like people can choose not to fill up the septic tank, unless they eat a lot less.

All I can say is, I hope you get "stinkin" rich doing it. It's not a job for everyone.

My wife's grandfather pumps, installs, and fixes sceptics. He also has some portables I'm not sure how well he does but seems to ne doing good not a millionaire or anything. He has cut back installs a lot cause someday is super under cutting him. He refuse to work at a loss or for very small profit like $100 per install too big of a risk.

Good luck on the new adventure.

    Good luck Brandon.

Lucky for you, that the Bulldog is comfortable with anything on it"s back. You can set that dump bed off onto a rack, and slap on a vacuum tank in just a few hours.....IF you wanted to have something a little classier (and bigger) than that old Ford.

LOL....... Rosty is right....you're gonna be taking chit from everyone!!!

You will need a class B with tanker. I talked to my insurance man about this. He said my insurance will be alot cheaper then my dump truck. Cuz i will not be a for hire carrier. It will be private use only. So that was good to hear.

    Got some questions for ya.

I will be making an LLC since i will have the septic truck. Now to get my MC,DOT and PA PUC numbers in the LLC names do i have to re apply again?? Or can i just do a name change??

Also my dump trucks Registration is in my name. and the title is in my name (bank will have that for anthor 4 years) Can i change the registration on the dump truck to the companys LLC name with the title being in my own name?? Thanks again.

Don't know about the Pa rules, there are only a few states that use PUC numbers, Pa and Texas are the only 2 I can remember.

In Jersey where I base plate you need to re-register the truck to change the name, because they think of it as a new owner, as far as the DOT/ MC numbers, YES, you can change them, and you can do it online, I changed mine when I dropped the Inc.

The best thing about the septic business is all the cool puns you can put on your truck. I saw one last week that read "Turd Busters" above a picture of a "log" with the bar / circle emblem over it. Drilling is almost as good though. I used to do environmental water well drilling and we had shirts that read "Your Hole is Our Goal!" That reminds me, I have a pic of the back of a truck I was behind on I-80 in PA that read "Master Baiters!" in big letters on the back.... that was absolutely AWSOME!

Very sweet logo Brandon! It's going to make you look very professional!

Are you going to go whole hog and put the same logo on the dump truck......only with "Dump Truck Services" or whatever under the Martin??
