    Default Pissed at Volvo

Went to my local dealer to get a wiring diagram. They informed me they no longer supply any wiring diagrams, flow charts, procedures etc.. that I had to go online to get the information:

Volvo Trucks North America eMedia Center

    They just lost my business.

Can't say I blame you. $100 for a 48 hour window to look up all the information you need? Did a search to see what I could find. See if any of this will help you... Since I don't know just what part of the wiring you're looking for.

Don't know how much any of these will help you, but I tried a Google Search for Volvo Semi-truck wiring and came up with these.

With $100 for a 48 hour window, someone is trying to make up for money they're not making on the repairs themselves. I remember, back when I was driving, Volvo was spending a whole lot of money advertising at T/A. What did they call it? "DRIVER'S ENTERTAINMENT NETWORK"? Watch about half a hour of country music videos, than 45 minutes of Volvo commercials. Bet they're not spending that kind of money on commercials any more.

    Oh it gets better!

So I finally suckered up, got my dads VIN and mine ready, ordered the online access, and I have to wait 48 hours! I'll be on the road by then!

And, they aren't so concerned about the O/O because there are more company trucks than O/O. So, while the companies play along with them, you get to kiss their grits.

Volvo really love their parts too. I just replaced the exhaust system on my '97 Volvo from turbo to tip. Parts at the Volvo - Mack dealer was $1368. I got every thing at Fleet Pride for $702. Last year I replaced the shocks at the back of the cab. Volvo in Charlotte quoted me $80 each for the shocks. Got the same shocks, made by Monroe, at NAPA for $30 each.

ANY dealer charges more for their parts, down to my '99 Chevy Blazer. The parts are 3-4x higher from a Chevrolet parts room than a NAPA.

Couldn't you buy service manuals and then you wouldn't have to continually pay the $100 fee?
