    Default Any International 9900s around?

Over the past few years I've noticed very few International 9900 tractors around (or at least very few in the southern US). I've done a lot of reading and research on them and they appear to be a very rugged truck. Is it my imagination or are they just not that popular?

I used to drive one, and they are fairly common here in southern ontario.

But its mostly O/O's who buy them, and most guys who want a big hood go for KW and Pete

I think it depends on where you run. I used to see a lot of Canadians running the 9900's. I don't see as many in the Southeast. I think most of those in the southeast who like hoods prefer 379's or W900's. Personally, I like the 9900's.

I have a 2001 Int'l 9900i. Like the looks of it when I was "truck lookin'" and still do. I Like the interior layout except for the moron who designed all the dash bracing out of plastic. Overall weight with a 42X102X72 Timpte hopper is under 27,800 with both tanks full. Several others around run Petes and they are always barely under 30K with a smaller trailer than mine.

I average 6.7 mpg in the summer and slightly less in the winter. I feel like thats decent considering mostly short 40 to 100 mile round trips at 80 to 85K with at least an hour of idle time every day.

I would buy another one in a minute. Whenever I see another 9900 driver they always seem pretty satisfied overall.

I have always like my International. The 9400 has the same interior and sleeper as the 9900. I don't think that you can beat them for reliability. I believe that they are grossly underrated.

I was also looking at a 9400 at the same time at a different dealer. I actually like the better visibility with the aero hood, but that truck wasn't as good of a deal, and not my color.....

Groendyke has a big facility in Enid so there's no shortage of Internationals on the roads around here, but they are all fire engine red 9200's.

My 9400i was a good truck.

I really like the interior and you can't beat the leg room while behind the wheel. Also, it has the most comfortable seat I have ever been in. Infact, it is a lot better than my Wide Ride and the new Elite I just bought for the FTL.

I agree 100% Love my Int 9400 with the 550 HP CAT. See my latest post in "Gambling with Nevada" on how I was passing a Pete 3 times over the course of 100 miles in the hills of Northern Nevada.
