Default Why you shouldn't think a parking lot is a race-track

I was at the Flying J in matthews, MO saturday night and a schneider driver decided he wanted to show us his driving skills and grab as many gears possible leaving the fuel island...... he didn't realize they had set out parking-stops for a spot they were repaving and he hit one with his trailer going about 35mph. I took some pics and sent it to SNI so they know what this dumb-ass was really doing. Here's the damage

Company drivers ... Or maybe he didn't pay for fuel The picture could be an ad for GoodYear tires: "Even when an air-to-air missle hits your rim or you run over a dead coyote, or a very big man puts a hammer to it, our tire will still look okay ... from a distance!"

Yeah... we see allot of Canadian trucks that look like that here in N. Mitchigun.

You can always tell a Canadian truck coming up on your six, from the tell-tale
    flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap-flap, etc.
They somehow always have an orange road cone wedged between a trailer dualie.

Might oughta spring for 2 tires when they replace that wheel, they look kinda thin.
Truck stop drag racing is usually the domain of the Bullwagons around here.

Yeah, I just thought it was funny as hell. Then I overheard the driver saying he was going to call it in and just tell them he hit something in the road "because I'm on probation already for side-swiping a truck a few weeks ago"..... these are the types of drivers I have no problem turning into the boss man as an IDIOT!!!!

    GOOD RIDDENS!

That's scary as hell. Its a shame that it's those type of drivers that the motoring public seem to think of when they think of truck driving. No one remembers the skillful aware drivers that are the majority, just the jackass wheel holders.

I wonder what Schn*****'s CSA score is gonna be after a little more time with guys like this in their rigs.

Good for you Steelhorse, otherwise this guy will never learn anything and continue on in ignorant bliss until something much worse happens!

It just irritated me because I leased as an O/O with Schneider for 4 years and this is the type of guy who gives their company a bad name. They have well over 50 guys with 2 million+ safe miles, and the rest are just as good. It's just the comapny has started hiring anyone to move the freight, like most companies seem to do now-a-days. It is truly a shame..... I have only been trucking for 9yrs but my father has been in this line for 40+ and my grandfather started back in '44 after he got out of WW2. i spent all my summers as a kid riding with my dad. I love my job and profession, but the good-days are long gone.

Too bad the Mexicans in Laredo couldn't see these pictures. At my customers place in Laredo, you see an American truck (or Canadian) go past doing 5mph. Then you see some beat up p.o.s. go by doing 40mph, its Mexican of course.

Back when I was driving I was refueling and getting ready to tie up for the night in Tallulah, Louisiana one night and the danged truck stop parking lot resembled the Indy 500 time trials! I nearly got clobbered while backing into a parking spot!
