There is more freight coming out of Baltimore right now (as I type) than I have seen for a month (at least)................ that's good!

They are mostly going north............... that's bad!

The last couple of years have really been a roller coaster in this business. I have been off the last week or so, but there is still freight to haul and I have been offered good and poor rates. Sometimes, I am surprised at how cheap some can move a load. Other times, it is a good rate. We expect to see a slow down in demand this time of year. At one time I would take off from right before Christmas until after the first of the year.

Two weeks? Shoot, I take that much off when times are good. The last few years, I've taken off from right before Xmas until the second week of April.

If there isn't any decent freight you may as well take time off. Besides, it is cold during the winter.

I've stayed busy this whole time. Can't remember the last time I sat on the road, or at home for that matter. Every time I want to go out they have something. Went to Denver last week (left on saturday) and they had the reload on my qualcomm friday the day before I left.

In fact, they're even hiring all divisions.

I have stayed fairly busy since the first quarter. I have had to wait a day on a few occasions to get a decent paying load, but some of that is due to having to deadhead from a bad freight area to get to a good paying load.

Can't complain with my lanes. This week is screwy, had to deadhead to swap trailer out Monday morning (got screwed up last week unloading). Including deadhead miles my truck will have ran about 1436 miles from Monday morning until friday morning (leaves with being loaded in Midlothian TX-suberb of Dallas, to be unloaded Monday morning in KS, not counting in miles back to KS on that load, not counting revenue from that load). $2,509.70 + $101.85 FSC. About 300 miles deadheading. I pay 15% to guy I am getting truck from for his authority, so I am getting after that $2,235.10 including FSC. Usually I get better than that but having to swap trailer out screwed up week. Usually leave KS Sunday night for TX.
