Good job Mackman!Great looking rig. It's so nice to see someone who likes their job AND takes pride in their equipment. I see so many dumps and their drivers around here that are just trashed. Bald tires, rusty wheels, fenders falling off, no mudflaps, tarps with so many holes in them you wonder why they even put them up, you try to figure out how they see out their windows and mirrors their so dirty. I know not everybody can afford to drive a brand new truck, but at least show an effort to maintain what you've got.

Even when I drove company trucks I kept them clean, especially the inside. I'm anal about keeping ALL of my stuff clean and I've never "owned" my own truck, so maybe I've got it all wrong.

    Thanks robertt

I try to keep up with the truck. Like the saying goes... Pay now or Pay later. But i think a dump truck is one of the hardest trucks to try to keep on top of. They take such a beating and go into some real f-ed up places off road. But i wash it 1 time a week and wax it once a month. I grease it every 2 weeks. When im greaseing it im always looking for things that can bite me in the azz later.

mackman have you thoght about spinning the rim around on yor lift axle. That makes the outside of the tire even with the others. It's just for looks but I've never had a problem with mine that way. Nice looking truck in any event.

my friend pulls a dump trailer with a 379 pete daycab, the trailer has a tandem axle with 2 lift axles, so when loaded he has 4 axles on the ground, the other day he went to Cartersville Ga and loaded and headed south, only AFTER he pulled on the ringold scales did he remember the tag axles.. total fine $475.00 a lesson learned the hard way!!

You have no idea how far that will go with the resale of that rig. I looked thru a good 70 trucks that were just trashed, before buying my last one. I took cant stand an messy interior, hell, I cant even handle my duffel bag on the floor of the truck. It honestly makes me sick when I see all these guys driving around with wrappers and papers all on the dash, and then you look in the lower door window and all you see is more garbage stacked up. not only is that gross, but can you imagine the smell (then again THEY usually smell worse than the truck LOL)

Got my Windows tinted. 5% tint. Got all my wheels shine up. Paid 75 bucks a wheel to get them polish by a VIS polish machine. Well worth it. Painted my hubs. Put all new flaps across the back. Next on the list is my name on the side.
6in strip on the top. 5in strip on the bottom.

Lookin' good Mack, hope you don't have to go thru too many wheel washes @ rock yards. I spent the better part of the day shining up the wheels and making the truck look as good as possible, but never again after the fact that less then a week later they looked like crap again. And the fact that one of the laborers ran the tack sprayer across the pass. side rear axles.

I'll volunteer to driver your dump while you get the roll off truck going

Can't remember where I read it, but apparently now that the wheels are all nice and shining, you should put a few coats of car-wax on it to make it more resistant to dirt and other corrosive substances. Might help keep it clean longer. just an idea, never actually tried it myself...

I was told from a great wheel polisher out west a slight coat of PAM cooking spray will deter a LOT of crap for a while between polishes.
