If they are 162467 it's cheap.
That number doesn't come up in FMCSA website. Here's a link for them.
Bear
That's them. They operate under multiple mc#s. I've only used a handfull of times for very short(less than 100 mile) loads in NJ/PA. They seem to think that if you pu one day and drop the next then 300-350 is great pay on less than 100 miles.
Maybe their flatbed is better but the reefer is terrible.
Well, I saved the link and the guys name. Never know. Right now I don't meet there criteria anyway since I don't have a central dispatch and am just shy of a year in business. They also require a two truck minimum. I only have one at this time.
You just do flatbed in a close radius on the east correct?

Rosty...I do not know how they are now, but this operation used to have really good rates, for flatbed. We used to get good stuff from them, even out of Idaho, which is generally a pit, when it comes to good rates.
New Market Transportation
Back in 03-05, their biggest accounts where companies that manufacture store rack systems.
Worth checking anyway...if you haven't already.

I have used Bear Transportation for a couple of years. They have always paid me on time, if not sooner.
They don't have quick pay, but you don't have to worry they pay in about 3 weeks.
Rates for certain runs will be crappy, but some pay very well. I have done loads for $2.50 a mile for them on 1000 miles plus.
Trey, and Angela, and Ashley know me well, and are pleasent to work with once you get to know them.
Tell them what you need or don't do the load. Otherwise, they are reputible. Hope this helps.
I can use power tools, and I'll think about doing your dry cleaning if the rates are good.
I have done business with them, but it has been a while. There rates have not been there for the areas in which I needed a load. I don't remember any problems with pay.
They pay on time and do what they say they will but most of thier rates are too low. I did have a steady haul with them on a local deal for about a year (as said above about $350 for several locations under 100 miles but it was easy on- easy off and it loaded about 5 miles away so it was ok) but cargo master cut thier rate and took the contract. it got too cheap and thats 3 years ago before rates hit bottom. I hate to think what they are offering now. Any way as long as it's in the confirmation they are as good as gold on paying. Also I might add they will pay more,(which still may be too cheap) when they are against the wall. Definitely use them though when it's to your advantage. Think of them as a C.H. robbers wanna be.
They are a good, solid company to work with. We've done probably 50 loads for them over the last couple of years. They are like anyone else, you have to know your market and know how to negotiate an acceptable rate. If its too cheap and they won't budge, move on. We've never had a hitch with them, and they always pay promptly.
