    Ok, a couple of questions.

    1. What did Steve Booth do to get banned from here anyway? I'm in and out of here (in lately), and must have missed whatever it was.

    2. I don't think I can pm on here yet so can someone send me the link to the other site?

Last I heard he was pulling a flat bed out of somewhere in the NE.

Steve Booth kept violating the board rules. He was banned for short periods several times and permanently banned the last time. His posts changed from entertainment to personal attacks. He had several opportunities to change his behavior and refused so he was banned. The last I heard he parked his truck and went back to working with computers. This is a very demanding business with many casualties. As far as the other website is concerned, I can't help you.

Booth Boy got ragged on quite a bit by certain people who felt he shouldn't be getting his authority because he "hadn't paid dues" like some of the people nay sayers. Surprising his personal attack personna didn't come out sooner after all the crap he got, or some misguided information.

And, yes, he has parked the truck, but is always doing work on it. Recently he got a new grill and misc stuff, and is currently having the frame painted and or snaded and other stuff. If I made what booth did in the laboratory doing research, I'd park my rig too! But, he didn't go back because he wasn't cutting it as an o/o, but they needed extra help at his old job. Granted, he did and will probably continue for rates that I will never haul for, but that is what it is lol.

Pardon me while I zip up my flame suit.

I agree with this post. I always liked reading his stories. His business practices werent affecting anyone elses lives although it was hard to tell by seeing how people got so bent out of shape by what he did.I was always amused that only the things he typed were considered personal attacks. But thats just my own opinion. I wish he would come back on the board actually.

The problem was, he would post something about his business practices that would guarantee criticism, and then he'd respond with personal attacks. Sure - he posted a LOT of stuff that wasn't attacks. But his skin was far too thin to be posting his stories on an open forum. That's why he demanded that he be given moderator powers, so he could delete at will whatever he didn't like. When his request was denied, he threw a hissy fit.

I wish he would come back on the board actually.
Well, his username hasn't been banned for over 6 months now, so if he wanted to come back, he could. Frankly, I don't really care, as long as he follows the rules.

How do you know how much he makes and where he works, have you been to his job?

If anyone would quit office job with more pay for trucking, he or she should be banned not by the moderators here, but by the higher powers above...

I know the town he works in, and what he does. The company's name, I do not. I'd think we're friends. We talk about 1-3 times a week, and I've met him in person a few times. Last time I saw him was in Mass this summer. We talk money, and we both don't bullcrap each other. He really is a great normal guy with a sense of humor if ya knew him.

I know crap rates influenced his decision when he decided to help out at his former job and came back on a contractual basis, but he said he should be out running in the springtime.

Anybody care what Teal95KW is doing? lol

Yeah, he's been saying he was ready to come back out for quite a while now, hasn't he?

I bet he still says he has $30,000 in the bank too.

That would include me and I don't regret it one bit I enjoy driving truck much more than I did being in a suit up to my eyebrows in the rhetoric of politics.

Make that a ME TOO. Tired of the rate race of doing consulting/sales/networks for Law/CPA Offices. Tired of a-hole end users catching virus's and lying about it. Tired of trying to sell hardware and software - only to find CDW & Office Depot are selling at BELOW WHOLESALE COST.

Even though my rates are $130 an hour - I'll be hitting the road after the 1st of the year (most likely) with my own rig - staying out 3-4 weeks and coming in for 1 to tend the few clients I have left that I still LIKE. I turned down 2 new clients this week - I'm trying to wind the computer business DOWN, not CRANK IT UP...

I don't have $30K in the bank, but I have $20K buried in my backyard. Soon as I have enough to get started comfortably (50% insurance paid up front, separate $5K maintenance account, 3 months expenses & a truck payment around $600 a month) I'll drop the hammer and go for it.

    Thumbs up

I haven't read or followed all the posts, but the guy never rubbed me the wrong way. If he wanted to go run his own rig so be it. Can someone e-mail me the link? I just don't see GMAN as being nearly as cantankerous as some of us others, but I also haven't seen him have to wait in line at a buffet either.

"I swear you sit and wait for someone to mention Booth." Now that's just funny!

I am usually pretty easy going, Flying W. And I rarely stop at the buffet. I have seen too many people go from the bathroom to the buffet without stopping to wash their hands. But that is another story.

That's just proves my point, that he was(is) a "hobby trucker). He's still playing with his toy, but since it's not new anymore, not that much. And his life hood, is not depend of it. Good for him!

He made it clear on a few occasions on here that he made a LOT more money at his old job then his new one. He simply wanted to try out trucking, always wanted to do it. He is lucky however, to have such a high paying job to fall back on. Almost nobody here has that. Trucking IS our fall back job.
