You buy a new 2009 truck. You're based out of Canada.
Register for 10 provinces, pay IRP $3000.
Register for 10 provinces, plus CONUS, pay $1100.
Huh?

You're not telling us the whole story.
IRP gives you 2 options for estimating mileage in each jurisdiction when applying for your plates.
Sounds like the $3,000 amount was based on the mileage that the average truck runs in all 10 provinces. This is the way our (lazy) permit service.....er I should say, former permit service applied.
Sounds like the $1,100 amount was based on actual calculated estimates that you think you will run in North America. This is the way that I apply now that said permit service is fired and I apply myself.
