weren't you the guy that switched from company driver to o/o then the motor let go on your truck? I thought you switched back to a company driver after that?

I had heard that TMC parked quite a number of trucks... A thousand of them. But, I thought that was just a rumor until I talked to a TMC driver yesterday. The only one I saw all day, and normally I get to see 4, 5, or 6 a day. He said the only trucks that are moving are the ones on "dedicated accounts". I'm guessing that it will be cheaper to fill the contracts than to get out of them. He didn't seem all that optomistic about his own job either.
Good luck to you.
Destroy the cities...and they will rebuild them.Destroy the farms...and grass will grow in the streets of the cities.
Destroy the economy of the blue-collar worker...and grass will grow in the executive offices.
The bill has come due.

Yep, Cyanide that was it.
I've been meeting 3-4 TMC trucks on routes 37-122-11 in northern NY state lately. I think the one guy said they were bouncing 235 miles from Amsterdam to Massena then reloading for Baltimore. A 235 mile bounce for a 500 mile load. Yikes. He also said they lost the Alcoa acc't.
wowsy wow wow That's one of the reasons I not sure where to begin, again. Sure you can find a job, but who wants to get laid off in a week or a couple months? I wonder if there is some place like Alaska where you can go where there will be work no matter what. That may be a little extreme- you know, I remember trying to book loads with agents, dealing with freight volumes and freight prices- I didn't miss it when I went cents per mile.

I've never seen so many TMC trucks running empty as I have lately, 5 or 6 a day easily.
Seems like all TMC would need to do is maybe back off from 7 truck washes a week to maybe 3 and they'd be able to pay a lot of drivers!
